yum, have to try that! their duck fat fries & buttermilk fried chicken were already clear indicators that the food was primo.

Will miss the later part of Beer Week. Out of town to Budapest. Might have to hit the Far Bar on Saturday for KRBC. But no Citra this time around. Deciding if I should hit up Beachwood SB for the Farmhouse event today or wait in line for the Knuckle Sandwich release at the Boot this afternoon.

Popped into Bootlegger's at lunchtime today. It was delightfully quiet and no line at all. Totally lucked out.
Grabbed a growler and a couple bottles to get me through this 95 degree heat in LB today! Wanted to check out the Far Bar event but couldn't brave the traffic, heat, etc. Enjoy all!

Was also thinking about Far Bar this afternoon. But enjoying my last growler of Bad Boy in this heat in HB. Hit the Far Bar last year for the citra. Oh well. . . .

Hit up Golden Road on Saturday. Hot as balls, but a great time. The ticket price covered more than enough beers throughout the event and the gratis full pint pours INSIDE the brewery while on tour were nice additions. I had a great time talking with reps from Pizza Port (their supposedly going to start canning beer next year!!!), Beechwood, and TAPS. Jon Carpenter was also INCREDIBLY friendly, gracious, and open about everything they've done and plan on doing.

I've never been the biggest fan of GR, but I love what they're bringing to the craft beer scene here in LA and I love the direction they're heading. Wolf Among Weeds was a huge step in the right direction and Burning Bush is equally as great. All in all, a good time on Saturday.

    Oh, and this:

Awesome, I hope I can make it either one of these nights! Any ideas what your next cask will be?

    Cheers!

Any details on Avery night? Last year's selection was rather stellar.

FYI - Union Station event has sold out - and no tickets for sale at the venue according the the LAbeer week website.

Just wanted to add that I thought the Union Station event was very successful (in fact a little to much so based on my state afterwards). Seemed to run very smooth, were no real lines to speak of, didn't see any kegs blow to at least the half way point and I was able to try everything that I wanted to (actually there were things that I didn't get to try but that was because I had already passed my limit). Was plenty of interesting offerings and the location is great. My only point of criticism would be while the central water location was a good idea, I would have spread a few more water stations around the grounds.

All breweries had a least 2 selections but with many having 3-4 and some 6+. Tried a bunch of the prickly pear beers and quite a few others that are not bottled/canned.

    Thanks to the organizers.

I agree. 2 kegs of water and free coconut water in a central location wasn't really ideal. I would have liked to see at least 4 or 5 water stations spread about evenly. This is my only complaint other than the head (which obviously cannot be helped).
