heard at a store today the CT allocation of BCBS dropped from 200 cases last year to 50 this year. (FWIW) So much for stumbling onto it....

I was told by Maximum Beverage in Farmington today that the Hartford distributor was given 70 cases.

Today I said to myself I need to start shopping at Total Wine. I am sick and tired of seeing dates from 2015 on bottles from the smaller stores. My thinking is the big guys have more volume and have fresher stuff on the shelves.

This is becoming a huge problem. Lots of selection in beer is coming at a price.

Are they not fighting the state's minimum price law? How is this bad for the consumer?

So you think the store with MORE inventory has fresher dates? :astonished:

Stores are already running on thin margins to remain competitive among the stores around them. Do you know why prices are higher in CT vs the other states? TAXES!! Let me give you a quote from this article:
Also, min bottle pricing doesn't apply to beer. Stores can legally sell beer at a penny above cost. But in paying rent, insurance, wages, inventory, etc, that's not possible for a small business.

Long term monopolys end up not being a good thing. Short term they are great though...

BC is selling FAST in hrtfd county. Many places are sold out already. I've never seen it go this quick and in such limited supply.

Just hit 5 stores in Glastonbury/Wethersfield area. Two stores received none, two got one case and were sold out, and Putnam got two cases. I was able to get 1 bottle there @ $11.99. Last year, Putnam put it out on the shelf with no limit. This year, its in the back room at 1pp. Slim pickins...

Coastal in Branford is running a Black Friday special. All bombers being sold at cost.

BCBS-Hit 6 stores in New Britain area. 2 sold out in under an hour. 1 got nothing. 2 were waiting for delivery. Was able to snare one measly bottle for $9.99. No variants anywhere. Looks like CT got crumbs this year.

Yes you are right. It is very good and deserves more praise and I like the way they package it as two 12 oz cans VS one bomber. I still have some of last year's put away.

This is true all around. Goofy "tower" 2 pack but love the option of having 2 sessions. Only slight drawback is price in line with current inflated bomber pricing. Remember it at $8.99 or $9.99/bomber back in 2012.
