Damn, I missed out. Can Someone take pics? Also Who ever attends, take pictures of Texas beer people bring or other beer not worthy of others being shared, IE yuengling.

Edit: Also, Do you guys think people will be neglected at the door if they do bring Texas beer or something not really living up to other beers?( Yuengling or other)

I was wondering how they would handle the issue of people bringing beers that aren't up to par. I thought about posting that question on facebook. Maybe I'll just email them. I remember when Petrol did one of their first bottle shares, he specifically said "rare beer" bottle share, yet people were showing up with beers that they just picked up at Specs on their way over.

Did they say what they capped it at? I am curious as to what that number is... and then how many will actually show. They did a similar system for their tours early on and the turnouts were very low compared to the amount that registered. It made that first tour quite enjoyable, as the crowd was so much smaller than expected.

I wonder if they capped the actual sign-ups at 60 or if they left room for no-shows. Could be nice if they did cap it and then only about half show up. I saw some of the Karbach guys at Petrol on Tuesday and they were pretty pumped for this thing, so I imagine most of them will be there participating as well.

If people bring Yeungling or DR 12 they should be denied at the door. Ridiculous.

I went to a bottle share like this at Avery last summer. Lots of good homebrew and unique beers I had not heard of or would not have had a chance to try otherwise. Plus it was held in their barrel room, so it was a great atmosphere for a tasting. Sounds like a fun event.

I'm glad they aren't allowing homebrews. Also, it's crazy how much confusion their fb post incites in people.

They're obviously trying to cater to the Houston beer crowd (for lack of a better term, Houston "beer nerds"), but 90% of the ding dongs on fb have no idea what a bottle share is.

It's going to be weird if they let people in with Yeungling or any vintage of DR. Instead of saying "bring at least 22oz beer that you cannot find in the state of Texas," and then adding "can not have been sold in the last 12 months," they need to say "bring any beer that has never been sold in the state of Texas."

By the current guidelines, if someone shows up with one Kaggen! Stormaktsporter or a 375ml Blåbær, they would be denied entry. And that would be hilarious.

Needless to say, I think I'm excited.

There is always going to be both. Thing is, if you don't like something, don't have it.

All of the Petrol (Big) bottle shares have been really nice for the size.

From what was on the table at Open the Taps, it did look good. I made it in late, all the beer was already boiling.

What if people who didn't register show up with something nice, Should they be admitted? Im thinking of stoping by with a 09 bobs or 12 DL and be like, "Can I haz invite?" That is, being the possibility they turn down people for bringing stuff not to par but then again I doubt the brewery would turn down people, they might end up losing this customer. I just think they should have better informed the public on what they were to expect, and what people should expect to see and bring. Or maybe they should have two different bottle shares going, a separate place for those who brought the yuengling and dr12, that way they can share amongst themselves.

From what I understand, somebody correct me if I am wrong, but they said they will be easy at the door, so if you have something special they will probably just let you in. At least thats what I was told.
