It was on tap yesterday at Max's and they had bottles for sale. Have not seen any at bottle shops but assume that most of it was already spoken for before it hit shelves.

 

I went to a non-NRG place in the city that had BCBS and VR on tap - yes, VR. It was a one time thing so sometimes you find diamonds in the rough. There were about 10 people waiting outside when the doors opened at 11:30am. Note, I never would have known about the tapping except for I ran into a guy at a DC bottle shop that I met the year before at BC event. He was pissed because he couldn't make it because he had "family shit" do to.

Unfortunately my job relocated me to the barren wasteland of macro brew known as College Park and I missed out on the release earlier this week! I am grateful to the OP and wanted to let anyone else looking what they had.

 

Did anyone go to the ChurchKey BCBS event? Was it crazy busy?

 

Churchkey was pretty busy, with a long line. About 25 people got 4 ounces of vanilla rye (still great, but would rather have known about the event earlier in the day) and it was gone in minutes. They staggered the entry so that things went pretty smoothly, but after the VR, Rare and 2012, it was time to go.

 

I got "the last" one, about 2 hrs ago. At least that's what the lady told me. FWIW they do usually just put one on the counter so you can't see how many they have left, unless you loop back outside and try to see through the window from the street.

 

Makes sense. State Line won't have anything until tomorrow afternoon, but even they have no idea how much they'll get.

 

Wine Source had in on Wednesday.

 

Any reports of HTs or the like, with decent amounts of BCBS/BW in NoVA or DC? I got pretty turned off Friday, getting 0'd at Alexandria TW @ 9:25 and then 1 btl at Springfield TW 15 mins later.

 

The DC HTs got some, but I think it's all gone by now. I don't think VA ones get them at least none of the three I called. Must be VA Eagle who is arguably the most hated distributor in the area.

Btw world of beer Arlington just tapped bcbs. I'm gonna walk right past a bcbs-less rustico.

 

Wasn't there a second drop of BCBS Regular at some places last year?

Yes, a week or so later, it was delivered to a lot of smaller shops, WF foggy bottom, etc.

 

Anybody know if Costco got in a ton of Gingerbread Stout like they did last year? I know it's not a cool place to shop for beer, but I find stuff pretty easy there.
