Thanks -- made the trip up from Baltimore Wed and it was worth it. Grabbed a handful of 4 packs, had a few brews and some tacos and rolled out.

On the other hand, the added demand and additional sales and higher prices lead to expansion, which leads to far greater availability. Trillium is a great example - they get traded all the time, which has allowed them to run a large canning operation where palette upon palette of several great beers are available in cans at their new location. Granted, the prices are still high, but nobody owes us low prices.

Traders are basically doing the work of distributors, albeit on a smaller scale. One way or other, the beer is going to find its way to non-local markets if the demand for it exists. This way is less of a headache than dealing with distribution, so I'm fine with it.

At least two... they said it would be "their most collaborative week yet" last week. Monkish? Half Acre?

Anyone crack a Double Peach Milkshake recently? I had one last night and it already started snow globing. Still good, but if you're sitting on any you might want to drink them soon. I know past milkshakes have fallen off pretty quickly after snow globing.

Pretty disappointing since it hasn't even been 2 weeks.

I had one over the weekend, thought it was pretty stinking good.

What causes the snow globe effect? Is it the wheat flour? Don't think it is yeast...

Looks like there could be some significant rain this Wednesday. Will be interesting to see what the line will look like especially after an expensive holiday weekend of shopping for many as well.

The line last Sunday was still quite long despite freezing temps and crazy wind. And I feel like the type of people willing to pay $100 for a case of beer aren't too affected by holiday shopping cash woes.

Same here but it was great while it lasted. Drink em up fast!
No idea but I can say that not every Milkshake ends up as a snowglobe. Even after months, Passionfruit and Lychee stayed opaque.

I don't have any experience but I remember people saying that the beers still taste great, the snowglobing only affects the appearance. The milkshake series is actually onf of the few IPAs where to consensus seems to be that they hold up very well over time. I almost never see or hear anyone say that they've fallen off.

A consideration as regards the Milkshake series of beers is that it has been reported that the Tired Hand brewers add flour while brewing these beers. If the flour is added to the kettle then a starch haze is introduced to the beer. Whether there are chemical reactions which sometimes create snow globes vs. just a permanent haze due to this flour addition I am unsure.

    Cheers!

Is this just speculation (outside of the Hill Farmstead one)?

That snow globe effect is just a visual warning that the trots are gonna hit come the next morning.
