You sure that was 2016 BW? I was in there a month or so ago and they had a case or so of the infected 2015 BW batch on the shelf. Dicks.

I'll echo @Bryan71...they can go f themselves. I would be shocked if they actually put the new stuff on the shelf as they hide EVERYTHING in the back. Well, except that 16yr Hirsch that they are trying to sell for $2,200. That's so ridiculous even for secondary, which proves how slimy and clueless they are.

 

Yeah, I'm positive. I'm aware they had the 2015 on the shelf before. I walked in and rolled my eyes thinking it was still those. Got closer and wa shocked to see it was actually 2016.

 

Mr As Liquor store in Palatine still had Barleywine as of 5PM last night.

Also, 1 bottle of Ryeway to Heaven, 1 bottle of Surly Ten, and plenty of Backwoods Bastard and Worldwide Stout.

 

Could anyone point me to a few bottles of regular at a reasonable price? I was out of town on BF, missed all the releases and beermenus is coming up pretty empty.

 

Whole Foods and Mariano's are both releasing this week. Probably your best chance to get some.

If you just want regular you should be able to show up a little after they open. If you want a varient you better get there early.

They get it in. They put it on the shelf, or hold it in th back and you ask them for it.

There's no release.

I don't think they get variants. They have not in the past.

 

Whole Foods team member here... Just an FYI, make sure that you check with the store that you're looking at in advance, because not all are getting variants. Some smaller volume stores are only getting a limited supply of regular.

I know others weighed in, but don't forgot about Meijer as well, if you are near one. And I think they are included in this second wave of Marianos, Whole Foods, etc. The Meijer near me had regular for over a week, though you had to ask them for it at the service desk.

 

Awesome Im going head over there after work today. Hopefully they have some left. I really liked the barley wine at the tasting event.

 

If you want to spend $24 for barleywine and $18 for regular, head on over to Armanetti's in Elgin...

 

I went the first on saturday and was like wow thats too much. but he had prop for 40.

I went back and got the prop. Kinda was amazed it was still there.

Another funny thing is, Armanetti's in Schuamburg off nerge was selling them at reasonable prices. 14.99 bw and 12.99 reg.

 

Yea that one at Nerge/ Plum Grove is fairly reasonable. I've had some good luck there in the past.

 

Do you remember how much it was? I believe he typically marks his stuff up a couple bucks, so I would expect the BW to be around $17-18/ea, unless he did something different this year.

 

I want to say regular was $12, don't quote me on that.

 

I hope this helps someone nearby...but as of 5 minutes ago Meijer Bolingbrook (355) just got in 3 cases of regular bcbs. 9.99 each limit 2 behind the service desk .

 

I saw that they posted somewhere that at least on Black Friday they were selling the 13.8% version if it happens to matter to anybody.
