So many unknown variables to consider but based on my calculations I'd say this bad boy is selling out at 11:34am

The more important prediction/question is... what time do you need to be in line to have them in hand before they sell out at 11:34am?

If its like Like Whao, 11:34. There was eventually no line at all and you could walk in a grab it.

    No.

I'm a local and wish big releases were kept down to two or three 4-packs per person. Full case just encourages hoarding and secondary market shenanigans. It also means the beer goes to fewer people, and that waiting on line is likely required.

I'm in the same boat, and agree with you (and have mentioned this too) - but people close to the OH also fairly point out that it's in the brewery's interest (from a manpower / resource perspective) to get everything sold as quickly as possible, which I understand as well.

Ok I see what you're saying. Yea I totally agree with you on that. Tired Hands does the limited allocations and it's nice to know that you have a chance to get the beer. I know there's no chance I'll get this beer. I may have a chance with the other 2 releases.

I completely understand how high limits are very good things for OH (due to keeping hype alive and moving inventory as quickly as possible).

It sucks for me, though, so I'll keep complaining.

I believe Tired Hands only does that because of state laws on how many ounces they can sell at a time.

They want to sell as much beer as possible. I think the last release is also a good example, with double mosaic, of them adjusting limits to try to get it to as many people who lined up as they could.

Not entirely true, when released from the brewery side door they don't have to oblige by those laws it's only when sold through the taproom counter

At a case limit on the Monkish, the Monkish sells out in a couple hours and they have Stacks and Forever for several days (IMO). Most people will not trek down there if they have no shot at the prime target. At a lower limit, you get more bodies through over the course of the day who would actually buy the other cans while they are there. Ultimately they end up with less of the 'lessor' cans taking up space for days. It isn't like once the Monkish sells out they send a bunch of people home and save money on resources.

Like I said - I agreed with @icfpny - was just pointing out what others had told me when I'd made the same point.

I'm not sure if I totally agree with your logic though. And presumably OH have dialed in what they believe to be the best way to handle these releases - based on lots of trial and error. So unless you/I own a brewery (I don't) I'm going to guess they know best in terms of what works for them.

Yea, I might not go since I haven't seen if the can art is good :wink:
It's funny, I heard of Monkish, but I hear they make mediocre beer, so I think this beer will last a few days.
