Uh, one has a license to sell alcohol and the other doesn't? It is pretty god damn simple to denounce one and not the other.

Yeah I live near that Galleria and its horrible. He gouges people pretty bad. I remember zombie dust sixers being broken apart and singles sold for $10. I get it, buy it or don't...but that just made me shake my head.

I have lived off Southport for a few years, I don't got there under any circumstances. Each time I have been there they have treated me like shit.

It blows my mind that that place is still open, given the stories I hear. There's a Jewel like 3 blocks away, just buy your liquor there! (or literally anywhere else)

These sites operate on a loophole that makes it technically legal to sell though. Your point is not valid.

So, are many people here planning on lining up this Friday at Whole Foods around Chicago for a chance to score some more BC?

I still miss the little bodega that used to be there years ago. that was before craft beer went mental but the owners were really nice.

LOL, people here went to Jewel Friday AM, went to Binnys after that AND went to the Capones release. You bet your behind you'll see some familiar faces if you are going to chase BC at Whole Foods.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I wake up at 5A.M. daily so 7-8A.M. is nothing that would be a big inconvenience. I'd just hate to show up at 6:45 and see a line around the block. Then I might just bail.

There will definitely be people in line. I can't predict anything obviously, but I think I got there at 6 or 6:30 last year (West Loop), and easily got BCS, but no variants. I'm sure LP will be packed, since it always seems to be.

If not at open, whenever they're allowed to sell liquor. Either way, it should be relatively early.

I am still feeling the burn from a couple years ago at LP Whole Foods when the line was down the block at 5:30am, continued to grow until it was all the way down Kingsbury at open and they basically divvy'd up the whole allocation to the first 20 people in line. I don't care if a place's prerogative is to not change allocations to meet demand, but at least tell the folks who are standing out there in cold that they are going to get shut out... 3.5 hours in line was not worth it for two (12oz) bottles of regular.

Of course I'm a good little beer masochist so I'm sure I'll be out there again on Friday since I missed last week

Damn... That's discouraging to read. I guess I'll still just drive bye and see what kind of nightmare I'd be dealing with before deciding. But nothing I'm reading is giving me much hope.

It is not technically legal unless the bottles are empty. Since the bottles being sold online are not emtpy, it is still illegal and you are wrong.

Its shady business practice, but the law dictates that if the bottles are sold for collectible value, not to be drank, it is not actually illegal. So really only the buyer in that situation could do something illegal.

Edit: We're veering off topic. My point was that although not technically illegal, gouging so hard above the MSRP is just a shitty thing to do. Reselling bottles under certain criteria can be legally done utilizing a loophole. That is also a shitty thing to do. I see that you and some other people here disagree with me on wether or not the price gouging is right, and that is fine. We are all entitled to our opinions. I don't intend to cause any hard feelings. Lets get back to discussing the overpriced bread water we all hold so dear.

    Cheers.
