Even though I've always enjoyed Sierra Nevada's seasonal mixed-12's, I've never had a "favorite" from any brewer........

...until recently! I came across one at my local grocery store from Short's which I'd never heard of, or seen at any of my bottle shops. It was a mixed 12 pack of Imperial IPAs which have all turned out to be very tasty.

    Three each of:
    Superfluid,
    Aww Jeah,
Stache Bender, and the grail of the pack was
    Batch 5000, a 15% Triple IPA which was super-well-done.

One was a fruity IPA, another was piney and grassy, one was citrusy, and the fourth was giving 120 Minute a run for it's money. An awesome 12 pack that I'd gladly hand over $26 for again in the future!

A "favorite" mixed 12 pack would be a stretch. I find most to be awful. I already don't like buying 6 packs, because I'm so picky and like drinking variety. Buying a 12 pack and getting stuck with a few sets of beers in the pack I don't like is just a bummer and a waste. I have been tempted to pick up some mixed 12 packs with what Stone, Sierra Nevada, Schafly only sell in their winter mixed 12 packs (all include a coffee beer), but haven't bitten the bullet.

Now with all of that negativity unleashed, if I'm hosting an event and need beer, I usually spring for the Sierra Nevada mixed 12 packs. Not to say I host often, but it's a nice pack for a small social gathering with family or friends. The best part is even if they don't all go, all four beers are light enough that they aren't liver busting, and make excellent post-workout beers while I deplete the leftovers.

First mixed 12 pack I have bought in a long time was the SN Snowpack. Since picking that up a couple of weeks ago I've started looking at other mixes.

What he said. What a great mix 12. Batch 5000 was fantastic. I am not a fan of most beers north of 10% - 12% but for a 15% beer it was extremely balanced and delicious.

It was fun to buy a Mix 12 of seasonals and limited beers rather than a mix 12 with 9 regular beers and 3 special beers as is often the case with many brewers mix 12s

My "problem" about variety packs is that there is usually something I don' t like, like rhubarb-peanut butter or something.... so, having said that.... I really like Ithaca's box of hops. Pacific Gravity in particular is very nice!

    Cheers

    Brewery Vivant: The Big Flight

    It's a 9 pack of pint cans.

2 Farm Hand: French style farmhouse ale
2 Undertaker: Belgian style dark ale
2 Big Red Coq: Hoppy Belgo-American red ale
    2 Triumphe: Belgian style ipa

And 1 mystery pint, always a seasonal specialty in my experience.

It's year round, when I run out I just pick up another.

Actually a case (or a double 12 pack ) sent into PA by the folks at St. Bernardus.

It has 4 each of six beers, the Abt 12, the Prior 8, the Pater 6, the Wit beer, the Tripel, and the Watou Tripel, every one of which is worth having and enjoying.

Agree, the original Beer Camp was really fun to sample through and all the beers were solid or better. Only downside was the pricetag, but it still was about the same cost as my usual mixed singles if I bought random 12 off the shelves.

Yes the SN fall pack was very nice this year - and I have a Snow pack ready to open soon too.
I was pleasantly surprised by most of Sam Adam's Winter pack this year too.

Sam Adams Winter/Christmas pack only because of Old Fezziwig. I will drink through shitty and mediocre beer to get me some Old Fezziwig.

Great lakes is a go to for me. Every mixed pack from SN is usually worthwhile. I'm also a fan of Great Divide's. I can't decide my hands down favourite though.

Thirsty Dog's Mixed 12 is usually better than average, and often has a bottle or two from their higher-end 4-packs in the mix.

Stone Mixed IPA pack is wonderful. IPA, Sublimely Self-Righteous, Ruinition 2.0, and Citrusy Wit.

The Firestone Walker box is my go to choice when buying a mixed 12 pack. I also like most of Stone's mix packs.

The St Bernardus gift pack, one each of the Wit, Pater 6, Prior 8, Watou Tripel, Tripel and Abt 12 is my favorite mixed 6 pack.

There's also a Belgian mixed 6 pack you can usually find pretty easily with one each of Gulden Draak, Gulden Draak 9000, Bornem Dubbel, Bornem Tripel, Piraat and Piraat Triple Hop which is quite nice.
