I understand limits are low but shit break it into two or four packs at least. Single 12oz bottles? Cmon man. Off color did legit two packs of their Coffee Dino smores, thought that was cool. But i also don't think Norms is breaking it into singles cause they care about us and what to share the love, it's so they can charge an extra 1.50 per bottle.

For places like Dominion and maybe Norm's they only broke it up for a few 6ers like they do with a lot 6 packs that come in so folks can sample one without buying the whole thing if that is their preference. They sold a ton of full 6 packs and it just happens that those flew out so only singles are left. I was bummed when I saw it but they do this for most releases so I don't think it was a money grab type of thing. Both had 6 packs going for $13, which is really nice considering what we're spending on everything else dropping this week. Even whatever they are charging for a single is arguably a better value than everything else we're chasing.

But those are all stouts or close to it. Why is there such an overemphasis on stouts?

This was indeed the case. I called Dominion and they only had four singles left (I didn't bother going there as I figured someone would beat me to them.). After selling nearly 10 cases via six packs.

Norm's got five cases and were selling them by the six pack. When I got there, they only had three singles left, @2.79 each. I'm going to guess nearly all their sales were six packs.

Whole Foods Fair Lakes had a two single limit, but I'm going to guess they were just trying to spread the love as far as possible in a highly trafficked grocery store rather than trying to make some extra pocket change for the corporate monster.

It's that time of year, the colder it gets the most stouts you'll see.

FW XX and BA Ten Fidy at WF P St. According to Beermenus, they also still have BCBS, BCBBW, and Abraxas on tap.

Yup - I was at Norm's just as they put a 1-6pk limit on Westified. I did want to grab two sixers, no big deal tho. While I would like to try BA Ten Fidy - I just couldn't bring myself to grab a can. It was right there next to the Westified at the cash register....but it was like, $13 for a Sixer of Westified, or $15 for a 20oz can of BA Ten Fidy. The staff tried one earlier in the day and basically said - yes, its good - but is it $15 good? Probably not, lots of other beers that are similar (not saying that there are cheaper or more expensive options) just that there are a lot of similarities in the BA Stout market. So I decided to pass it up.

I would like to get Firestone XX - but its expensive and I doubt I'd make it there in time when it is released. I got XIX last year - still haven't cracked it yet.

I think this batch of Minute Man is even a little bit better than the last one.

if anyone is still looking for BA Ten Fiddy and missed on cans, it looks like you can get draft pours at Westover...for $18/12 oz. Unreal over there.

Saw some awesome new Epic Big Bad Baptist limited release bombers today in Baltimore!
Big Bad Baptista the Mexican coffee variant as well as the Double Barrel Big Bad Baptist.
Call me crazy but Big Bad Baptist is right up there, or better, than BCBS...

Different categories for me. If you like your barrel aged coffee stouts more coffee forward than BCBCS or KBS, it's a winner. Certainly less painful to acquire

Baptista sounds good but Double Barrel doesn't interest me. Barrel aged coffee is such a gimmick.

Guess I need to check this out. Still have some at Dominion?

In other news, I am drinking a can of Manor Hill IPA right now (11/14) and it's pretty damn good. I love to hate on Manor Hill, but they finally managed to make a hoppy beer that doesn't take like medicine.
