This is true, but Im curious how they canned that one off 12 pack of lumpen boogie and released it - did they can it at another brewery in IL? Had you heard anything about this?

I'm a big fan of flaked oats in pales and IPA's. Or really most any style. It adds a great creamy mouthfeel to beers, but really doesn't have a flavor of its own.

    BUT IT'S CHEATING!

Yeah, you're right though. It certainly seems to make for a nice beer.

Opened my V3 Juice Pants tonight - wow!

I know I grilled Son of Juice earlier in the thread, but this is pure gold (no pun intended). While the color is not quite up to what Juicy is, the flavor is right there! It's definitely the closest thing I've had to Juicy that came from the Midwest and I'm glad I picked up more than one bomber of this!

Glad you are enjoying it, but didn't you see the instruction diagram on the bottle? Not only are you supposed to drink it with a straw, but you are supposed to pour it in your pants first...

That's only one 16 oz. pour. I didn't take a picture of how I drank the rest of it... :sunglasses:

Sorry I don't quite get the follow up question. Edmar said on the BT show on Thursday that they canned at Forbidden Root in the city. Given that it is a fundraiser for the radio station (thus the $39.99 price tag), I'm assuming it was a one time arrangement

Yeah, I really enjoyed JP3, glad you are too. There's a balance to it that not all the other ones around here have had.

Also, I have to think Mellotron will be out any day now; HB has already moved into brewing another NE IPA, "Reply Hazy Try Again"--Citra and Motueka hops.

haha, that actually answered the question - I hadn't heard that it was canned at Forbidden Root.

Had Juice Pants last night, it was solid...nice grapefruit vibes (to this palate anyway).

Certainly superior to Son of Juice.

It wasn't. It was brewed at burnt city. Says so right on the can.

Interesting. 99% sure he said FR on the show. Will go back and listen when it's out on podcast

Fundraiser or not, it's still right in line with their ultra expensive other options.

Cans of a 4-pack jungle boogie are $22 in St. Louis.

Anyone tried that Juice Juice Juice or whatever it is yet? I really didn't care for the other two Maplewood NE IPAs

Transient put out another one, Honeystone, that seems to meet the style. Low bitterness, hazy, juicy, almost creamy mouth feel.

Juice Pants #3 was really good. I didn't have #1. I liked #2 - but it wasn't a NE IPA. I loved #3 - and it was a NE IPA. Up there with RAM Juicy, Special Sauce & Galaxy Bowl as the best from around here.

I had a couple bottles of Juice Pants #3 since it was released. Very enjoyable - I found it to be more of a hybrid of NE IPA and a more traditional one. Perhaps that's why I enjoyed it.

    ^^^

Again, I haven't had the Trilliums and Treehouses of the world, but so far, I agree with this. The NE stuff I've had has been awesome, but JP3 strikes a nice balance which makes it easier to come back to than a lot of them.
