Maybe for the collab, but not the barrel aged stouts

Just posted, 120 cases of Forever Ever and 16 cases of Rye IPA left.

Also stated, "We're always trying to improve these releases."

So people showed up at 1-2 and got the collab? I'm laughing my fucking ass off at the people who claimed "you gotta put hours in if you want it" at 3-4am.

You are correct, my apologies. up till 10:30ish people got everything except Orbit, still not bad. I can't imagine anyone showed up at 8:30 that was only looking for Orbit. also I was probably about 120th in line and was out in less than an hour, not sure how much quicker they could have moved the line, but I guess if you were like 400 back it was 3-4 hours. whether you get there early, or later, you wait either way.

I was happy to get the Monkish, but I went for the stouts, and although this thread talked smack about OH stouts, I saw dozens of people leave with only stouts and not one can. I wanted all 3 bottles, but the Orbit sold first. I was OK because it was the worst reviewed of the 3 available. If you only wanted the collab you could've come later for sure. I am glad I got there at 9:45, got my stouts and took a case of collab as a bonus.

How were they? Thoroughly interested? Never found the stouts too appealling but they all did sound good.

No bikes are fine, I just threw that in for dramatic effect. Unless it's a citibike. Then you can just ride right into the river.

Only tried the vanilla so far and very pleased. Some people said there are carb issues but still thought highly. I really enjoyed mine. Going to try the Rye/Bourbon in the next few.

Actually only missed out on stacks. Ran out about 20 ppl in front of me. Would have gotten it if I had cash.

Does everyone expect BA stouts to be chocolate syrup? I cracked a bottle of vanilla and I think it's tasting great. It's got a nice head, I wouldn't say over carbonated at all. My only complaint is that I'm not getting a ton of bourbon.

Agreed. Really delicious stuff. My first can today went down like a double or even single IPA. I will say, a touch syrupy right now. But I'm pretty sure that will go away in a week. Great stuff all around though.

Yeah i know what you're saying. im enjoying the stickiness right now. when it first touches my lips it reminds me of Crusher or Eastern Standard. and then it develops into a mix of west coast/eastcost combo ! Im at the end of my first can and im sad

Echoing what @Ajulian21 said, Blowin Up is dangerously easy to drink. After half an hour I had already finished a can. That was one of the blue ones though and I'm excited to try one of the two pink ones I have in my haul to see if, as was the case with Like Whoa, there's something about the pink.

As per stouts I enjoyed the double barrel In Absentia the most. The Vanilla was good and there was a medium vanilla presence amidst a lot of dark fruit and some chocolate. BB We've Been Out There had the most body of the three (not surprising given the extra ABV). I thought all 3 were remarkably roasty and none were the chocolate bomb that Sumi Ink was, but the rye and bourbon barrel In Absentia was the most drinkable, had the most barrel presence, and tasted the most balanced.

I thought my BUTS was hot - but I generally prefer lower abv anyway. Stacks is tasting nice though, like a double El Dorado.

definitely not. saw neighbors come out and they were the ones who called the cops. other half saw the cops writing tickets...and honestly, a $35 ticket is a bummer, but I doubt it will discourage behavior...it will just help people to think about being a bit more covert, which could be good.

agreed, but you can't blame the scene for the behavior of some. tree house has it on lock down like the soup ****. everyone is well behaved...even those not well behaved are bad on the uber DL appearing to sip coffee whilst secretly whispering about how delish such and such beer is in their coffee cup. tree house finds a problem and they address it, but they had their share of neighbor problems before they got where they are now.

this is clearly not a priority for other half at this point. seems to me that their main concern is getting through the release and selling their product...all the rest is cost of doing business. watching the police hand out tickets and give advice to people it was almost like a "the neighbors called 50mtimes so keep it down." neighbors could approach other half and in an instant am post the lineup can change directions and be in front of less residential, but...no one cares enough to make the right moves.to get these things done at this point so non-issue.

there were very few who rolled up to no line and got what they came for...and those that did took a chance and they knew they did and got lucky. I have never gone to sand city before open but the day will come where I will miss out. as for those who were in the first ~50 in the wee hrs (myself included) we all had our reasons...for me it was the in and out, and getting home earlier than I told my wife I'd be home and getting the blessing to hit up more releases (someone mentioned the wait creating a problem w their wife). sometimes you have to make sacrifices for your hobbies to attend to your real responsibilities in life.

laugh away but to those who came super early, it was a great hang, and we didn't have to deal w any of the BS the rest of the line dealt w (line cutting, crazy waits after open) today was reminiscent of the good old days at Captain Lawrence/southampton for me...and for that, it was well worth it to come at that hour. I mean, after all, back in the days where waiting in line was the highlight of a beer release we came at that same ungodly hour. I never went to Kate the great day, but ppl would drink at the pub til it closed and then walk outside and get in line for the next day and rage all night, this is nothing new. if join dates are a sign of when ppl went full bore...most of you probably missed those days, but things were fun and laid back. things have gotten bigger and more scrutiny but at the end of the day it is beer. a drink that is tasty but gets you inebriated. so you shouldn't be surprised when there is drunken behavior. the idiots get their due.

might be giid odds of snagging beer w no lines at 1 or 2p, but a quick no traffic cruise back out to the burbs at 1pm? not likely. not everyone that comes early comes out of fear of things selling out. some people also travel great distances, so leaving an hour or two earlier and grtting on the road at 10a can make a huge difference in the ride home. you'll need to look beyond yourself to understand that each person has a different reason for arriving at the time they do and although you may "smh" or "laugh at" people for their choices...that just makes you...well the wonderful you that you are. go on and judge, but do have a beer.
