Delicious English brown as always. Flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, brown bread, coconut, and light chocolate/cocoa; with some light herbal/spicy hops and raisiny yeast dark fruits. Light herbal bitterness; nice medium bodied creamy mouthfeel, with light hop/roast malt stickiness. Touch silky. Minimal dryness. Great malt complexity and not too overly heavy on coconut flavors; with balancing light hop/yeast character. This will be my fallback replacement for Death By Coconut(when I run out); it is really similar in flavors, but not as roasty. I'll still keep drinking it though, need to hold myself over with the DBC until the next release.

Outstanding as usual this year. Flavors of huge tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, orange peel, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, papaya, light pepper, and pine hops; with some honey, light caramel, and lightly toasted bread malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced hop stickiness and malt creaminess on the mouthfeel. Lightly resinous and increasingly drying; but never astringent. Big and juicy on hops as usual. IIRC there was Mosaic/Citra in previous years, but it is 100% Citra this time. A bit different, but still amazing and very tropical.

Mind blowing as always. Huge nutty dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted oats, dark bread, and light molasses/smoke/char; with some herbal/piney hops. Bittersweet medium-full body; very creamy and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel; some silkiness and light roasted dryness. I prefer this even more with about 9 months of age to bring out more of the deep malt complexity, and tone down the bitterness; but it's one of the best beers I've ever had at any age. Need to stock up on more before it's gone, still plenty around at Meijer.

    Cheers

If ever there was a "gimmick beer" that was done right, this is it. Tastes like straight up ice cream.

Good evening, fellow LNBA's! I found this on the singles shelf at the grocery store today. This particular store does not have an extensive selection, so I was a little surprised to see it. Bottled in RVA on 9/13/16. What could possibly go wrong? Plenty, as it turns out. No citrus character whatsoever, and the malt backbone seems rather weak. There is plenty of bitterness, sort of like grapefruit pith without the flavor. So, tell me: why in the blue hell am I still drinking it?

I really liked that beer. Lost Forty's best beer, IMO.

Yeah, I saw you found that hidden gem across from the wharf! Surprisingly good selection, and not nearly as price gouging as you'd expect. Noble Ale Works is only about 5 miles from Disney, if you get a chance . Cheers and have a great time!

Based solely upon this review, I'm in. I hope it turns out to be better than Salted Caramel Brownie. :slight_frown:

I think they are overly conservative with their 5 year best by date. Those strong dark Belgians can go the distance, and only get better.

I'm glad I didn't dump this. It is much better after it has warmed up a bit. Although still rather weak in character, the citrus is beginning to come through nicely.

Got back from a solid workout in the gym and was looking for something a little lighter.

This Tofino Brewing session ale is hitting the spot - definitely a world apart from the kelp porter I had from the same brewer yesterday! But it's refreshing, and still interesting.
