Isn't it basically a suburb? Can the mods move this to the other thread?

I may be a city snob, but not sure I'd even group our suburb BA's with Manitowoc!!!

As a suburb BA... thanks? I think?

LOL. I know it may have sounded like a backhanded compliment. I know there are plenty of good folks out in the suburbs...I just don't make it out there much!

Just so those who ragged on my earlier post know, I interpret this thread to be about BCBC releases from the Chicago brewery. Not just in the Chicago area. May not be the case, but-oh well. Oh to another beer

This for Chicago BCS. There is a separate 'burbs thread. There's also a SE WI thread for general bottle hunting.

    Seems simple enough.

Manitowoc isn't exactly SE WI, so I guess it didn't really fit in any other thread.

I wasn't trying to be thread police so much...I'm more about letting threads freely go. I do think it was pretty evident to most (perhaps not from the thread title, but the first post) that this was focused on Chicago...I even included suburbs in my initial post but they made their own thread (those crazy suburb BA's!).

No harm at all, and I'm glad you found one up there in Manitowoc...not sure what the beer market is like up there. If that's all you were able to get and are ever in Chicago and looking to have some more, let me know!

Considering how difficult it is to get my city friends out to the house, I might as well be in Manitowoc!

    That's the Chicago way!

Thanks for the offer ! I bought 8 on Black Friday. Just surprised there was any left and trying to help out. I guess my thoughts are that the beer is made in Chicago, so I posted here. The thread title did not say-where can I find BCS in Chicago or something similar. Just a bit annoyed when trying to help someone, one gets called out for it.

That being said, I did open the one I bought today, my first one. It was quite good !

Getting called out for it is the BA (or American?) way!

100% agree with you on the quality of this year's. I was skeptical when I had it at FOBAB, but I had a couple pours the night before Thanksgiving and then opened a bottle on Black Friday and I'm very happy to have some of this.

Point well taken. Then there are FISH too.

There are good parts and people in Chi-town. Our son got his doctorate at U of C and we spent many pleasant days there.

Still not as good as 2014, though!

    (minority opinion, I know)

No more BCBS skepticism. Can we all agree that next year we can't base the BCBS products tasted at Fobab as an accurate representation of what the beer actually is? The beer is coming out of an ice cold keg going directly into a pitcher which will be empty in two minutes as the beer goes into a 2 or 3 oz pour with a glass that may or may not have been washed out, palates that have been wrecked, and the beer has never been allowed to bloom as people are consuming to move on to the next pour of something before it gets kicked...

This is why I think beer festivals in general are a terrible way to enjoy beer. Jostling in lines for tiny pours; after 3 or 4 you can't tell anything apart anyways b/c your pallet is shot.

Give me a bottle share with 2-3 friends and 2-3 big beers any day; you can actually focus on the flavors, let the beer warm, have at least 6 oz to truly appreciate and once your palate is wrecked switch to more pedestian options, all while enjoying a comfortable environment.

    God, I'm old....
