I'm in the afternoon session if anyone wants to meet up. hopefully I'll get the day off of work but if I can't, I'll have to grab my bottles & run so I'm not late.

Also, I'd gladly donate a bottle for a share outside as long as people can be adult enough to clean up after themselves. these folks are kind enough to host such great releases so we should all do our part in keeping their property looking respectable.

Anyone know what the current status of Hop Slush is? Hoping to still be able to snag some today

Probably easiest to call and ask. Or follow the IG page, I'm sure Shaun will post when it's gone

This is crazy to me. If this had been released in cans (even if on a weekday) it would've certainly sold out in hours. The craft beer economy is fickle and doesn't seem to follow any simplistic economic models.

Who or what do you follow to find out the Ram releases? Besides checking this thread...

I feel like I always hear about their stuff after the fact.

Not completely true if you compare the type of release. The reason cans sell out is that everyone there can effectively get as many cans as they want by double dipping. However, they also usually have some on tap (no growlers) and that lasts a week or two afterward . This one is just the tap, with the addition of growlers, but at a limit of 1 total. So people can't grab all that's left because there isn't any double dipping.

Just Schaumburg - that's almost always the case.

Good point, but the double dipping hasn't been the cause of selling out at the last few releases. Many people (myself included) have been shut out altogether.

The speed at which Juicy cans sold out was definitely due to double dipping, though. Folks like us got shut out altogether because of it - the cans would have lasted longer had they enforced the limits. They will definitely sell out eventually (and maybe still the same day), but they definitely would've lasted more than an hour and fifteen minutes.

It sounds like the last bottle release, though, was just more people showing up than they could handle based on the 2 bottle allocation.

The stouts are a different bag altogether. Those have been hard sell-outs for sure.

I'm going off what I read here, but it sounds like if they didn't allow double dipping, the last juicy cans would have lasted all day or longer. That's probably why they allow the double dipping - don't want to tie up resources for that long. Plus, my other point is they tapped it and the draft lasted for over week - the tapping is more comparable to this brew. I had it on draft something like a week later.

I dont know how you can make this comparison when its on a weekday and there was no prior warning about the release. The fact that it is not crowded on a Thursday afternoon is far from crazy. The cost of going out to Schaumburg on a weekday or night and potentially breaking prior plans vs going on a Saturday morning is going to reduce demand. The bottle share in line is also part of the reason they are able to draw people to releases. You are even proving the point by saying it would have sold faster in cans. The ability to take cans out to consume at your own leisure or trade would make it a more attractive offer. Therefore, demand is reduced since cans are not available. Seems pretty logical why this differs from a canned release.

Hop Slush is delicious. Had only planned on one pour, but it's so good I had to stay for another. At 6.2% this hits my %abv sweet spot. So true to style, this and Juicy are the closest thing to TH in Chicagoland.

I picked up two crowlers. Looks and sounds like the crowlers will run out tonight, but pours and growlers should last till the weekend.

Shaun you killed it again. Can't wait for Chaos Day and Morning Fog.

Or, this beer just isn't as good as some other releases.
