Logistically speaking, what is the difference between a Crowler and a can? Isn't a crowler just a can that is created one at a time in a larger format? This is a serious question.

    That's my understanding.
But I think others are correct that people react differently when, you can go bottle share at a release, the initial limit is 128 oz plus you can double dip. Also - 2 16 oz cans are better than 1 32 oz can.

It sounds like it may still kick pretty quickly!

Agreed. There's a lot at play here.

That's what I was getting at with my original statement. Beer economics are strange and complicated, and don't tend to follow standard basic economic models.

True. This beer on growler is cheaper too. 10 bucks a crowler.

They just tapped a fresh keg of Buttface Amber. This batch is killer. :slight_frown:

I've shipped crowlers without issues - probably one of the first Juicy to hit Florida - they loved it & want more

For those that didn't win the TG lottery, is anyone else relieved at not having to agonize over working out the logistics for both attending Chaos Day and picking up KBBS + Assassin bottles? Makes me kind of glad I didn't win that TG lottery. Been really looking forward to Chaos Day and would have had to pick.

It won't be that bad. It's only a 10 hour trip. Done that with side project a dozen times now

I would have done both if I won. Would have sucked if it snowed a ton on the way to Iowa.

It looks like the window of time for bottle pick of KBBS and Assassin is pretty small and randomly decided. I don't think you could just go and pick up those bottles at any time. Would have needed more fortune in having the bottle pick up time far enough apart to attend chaos day and account for the drive (in the best case weather scenario).

They are on separate days so I think that's more then enough time. Just a lot of driving

Ahhh, makes sense. For some reason I thought it was on the same day. Separate days = no problem.

I agree with your original post, even if they're on separate days. Some of us have lives outside of just driving around the Midwest for beer! I mean, I probably would've figured it out, but it would not have been a great situation to pose to my wife and kids (this comes from someone who didn't bother entering his wife into the TG lottery because of the non-starter that would have been).

Wait, you didn't enter either your wife OR your entire extended family? That's bizarre. :stuck_out_tongue:

After the last side note release I hope more silent releases/same day announcements occur. People trashed the place and that's completely disrespectful and lazy. Plus all of the mules. It was ridiculous. You cant act like an adult and clean up after yourself then the shares should be not allowed

That is pretty bad. I had a different experience at Side Note 5 release. As soon as the sales started, a few people made sure to encourage those around to help clean up the area around. Then again, we were on the other side from the entrance and very close to the dumpster so it was very easy and convenient to clean up.

As for the mules, I again didn't see that around me... If you consider wives and girlfriends mules... Well, then that's all opinion. Some really do like spending time doing these kinds of things with significant others and I wouldn't consider that mulling. If I saw someone's 78 year old nana in line, I'd probably call that mulling though... But I didn't see any of that.

I was also positioned opposite of the entrance for the release. Once we snaked our way to the entrance there was a much larger collection of bottles just left on the ground/near the entrance. To me it seems like people want the graveyard to be seen, instead of just being an adult and throwing it away.

I did see one guy after getting his allotment praising his mules, and having like 6 bottles. Going out on a limb that they weren't a significant other.

That does suck. I was at a BC release in '15 when someone's grandma pulled herself slowly out of a taxi to stand in line with her grandson. That was brutal, and everyone in line booed him.

Unfortunately, I really don't know what can be done to curb blatant mulling other than having an on-line lottery type of ticket release with a 1pp limit for allotment.
