Twin Cities Bottle Hunt - 2016 Edition

On the ground behind the counter as usual for limited beers..

 

I dont know if there are any truck chasers here but I really would like to know how they do it, My wife worked at a store for a while, and I got to know the guys there, and the guys doing the beer ordering in the store dont reliably know when a certain beer will be in, just good guesses at the day if not informed directly, and sometimes it doesnt come that day even- so it must be some hookup with the distributor.

Probably some truck loaders or logistics people at the distributor have friends and or sell that info to the chasers. But even then when the truck shows up the beer isnt magically on the shelf then! Gotta probably know the truck route too.

I doubt the guys hoarding the rare beers are the same ones calling the stores, theyd be way 'behind' if that was the case.

 

Just left TW Woodbury and they have:

Black Note (1 bottle pp). High Westie (1 sixer pp). And also Harmony of Spheres.

Now Casanova just tweeted that they have King Sue. The whales are really eating up our wallets this week.

Anyone know what other TG bombers are still at Nova aside from KS? Wondering if they still have Sosus or Twisted Galaxy, latter is probably a long shot.

Just got back. Sosus, Twisted Galaxy, and fresh Light Speed are still there. At least a case or two of Sosus left, same with Twisted, and a ton of Lightspeed. The King Sue seemed to be doing ok, no limit too.

I get that small time liquor stores don't want people who don't normally shop there to come buy all the "special" releases...BUT instead of blaming the paying customer...how about lets blame the breweries...THE BREWERIES you say...yes the breweries...the breweries that make mediocre beer that hogs your shelves that many people don't want...get pissed off at them, write on their walls, tell them to step it up. there are too many great beers coming out on a regular basis to waste my tolerance on that.

I get where you're coming from, and I actually really like your take on this...however, I don't see the point in blaming anyone. I have 3 places I regularly buy my "shelf" beer from. 2 of the places recognize me and I always get friendly greetings, but I would never expect them to hold anything for me. The third I have been to more, but they have no clue who I am. They are my go to spots, however I have struck out at all those places on the "Big" beers.

I bought my Darkness, Rye Pentagram and Black note from a spot that I've only been to 3 times, 2 to get the previously mentioned beers. I got my 3 bottles of BCBS from places I've never been to before. I'm not out there chasing trucks but if you all tell me I can find a beer I want, I'll certainly go to a store I've never been to before to get it.

 

Can anyone help me find some black note? Really anywhere in the metro will due.Thanks!

 

Okay, you asked for it. Your opinion has a lot of merit. Your writing is atrocious.

 

Cases of King Sue left at Casanova with no limit. They also have more in back so it should last awhile.
