Hey gang, I'll be traveling to the greater Akron area tomorrow for work. Looking to pick up some 4pks of Head Hunter to bring home. I'll be staying at the Hampton Inn in Stow and was wondering if there was a store reasonably close to my hotel where I can find Head Hunter. Is there a particular Giant Eagle that may have it? I'm happy to drive to Mustard Seed or West Point Market if they're safe bets. Thanks for all your help! Cheers!
West Point Market had it as of Sunday so did Acme right next door. Acme in Cuyahoga Falls (Bailey Rd) would be another good option to try which is much closer to Stow than West Akron. 101 Bottles in Kent might also be a good option.
If there is a Giant Eagle in Stow I would check their first and save yourself the drive. I've been seeing Head Hunter in GEs all around the greater Akron area. Haven't checked Stow specifically though.
Thanks for all the help! Is it safe to assume all product in the market is fairly fresh? Don't think they date bottles.
No, it's not. Some stores sell out very fast; places like Giant Eagle it can sit a while. I have seen plenty of old stuff sitting around the Cleveland area. How do I know it's old? I marked the cases. I think the price may be a bit high and they may have to expand distro.
thanks for all the info. anyone have akron suggestions to find it fresh? i'll have some time prior to my flight to run around. thanks for the help!
101 bottles should have it fresh. Lizardville in rocky river is probably also a good source, if you're flying out of cle.
i'm actually flying into akron/canton regional from boston. 101 bottles will work great. i may cruise to the brewpub tomorrow as my flight doesn't leave until 5:15 and my meeting with finish up at 11am. thanks for all the help!
i've been once before earlier this year and it was the one day they were out of head hunter on draft and in bottle. i substituted with columbus bodhi and their x-ipa brewed with hbc 342. love that place!
Unfortunately 101 ran out yeaterday, but I found some at Mustard Seed. Alls well that ends well. Thanks everyone!
I live in Boston and travel to VT regularly as that's where I grew up and have family. I've had my fair share of great IPA's - heady topper, Lawsons and hill farmstead ipa's, etc. I have to say that OH has some of the best under the radar IPA'S. I'd put head hunter, columbus, bodhi and white rajah up against any ipa out there. lots of love for the buck-i.p.a state.
