While I am looking forward to the JVM release tomorrow, I am not looking forward to the projected high of 40°. I am hoping the temp will dissuade some from standing in line hours before the release. I know I would rather not stand outside for 4+ hours with limited shelter, food, and restroom options.

Especially when they made enough to last until the next day.

At least that was the case with Trickery. Rolling through at 4pm, zero line, zero wait and still on tap. Sometimes I think beer people get too wrapped up in the "IM NOT GOING TO GET ANY" attitude.

Literally no reason to ine up early in the cold. This is more than was packaged for Trickery to my understanding. And that was way more anticipated.

If HW didn't sell through 5,800 bottles of Trickery in a day there's not a chance they will work through that much KCM tomorrow. I may be eating my words but save yourself a long wait and roll in later in the afternoon / early evening. If you are coming in from out of town be sure to enjoy all the other great breweries and beer spots RVA has to offer in addition to HW.

EDIT: Just remembered trickery was $20/bottle so maybe they will sell through a lot of KCM but still doubt it will sell out tomorrow.

Literally no reason to line up in line means nothing to the at least 600+ people that will do so from previous experience. I for one plan on getting some sleep and enjoying Richmond rather than waiting all morning in the cold.

Not that I didn't believe you, but I had to check the FB page for myself. Wow!

Is anyone interested in checking out Ardent's milk stout and mexican chocolate releases? It's so close to Hardywood and the woodfired pizza truck will be there.

There are a TON of releases and beer related things going on in RVA today. Triple Crossing releasing their first cans, COTU with Dos Duderino (if you're into their beers), Ardent, and Answer just put on a bunch of new Andalls in the past two days. Great day to enjoy them all, and then roll into Hardywood later in the afternoon do avoid the early lines.

There's so much more productivity that could be had with those 7 1/2 hours of waiting knowing one will likely stroll up after 3 with a very short wait. Not to mention to your point of the many other release & events going on around RVA today.

It sounds like a fun time for beer in RVA. I can't wait to visit in a few weeks.

Drove by about an hour ago and there were probably over 100 in line already. There are over 1500 allocations but I guess some people have their reasons.

What all beer releases are going on today and which do you guys recommend? I'm leaving from Harrisonburg shortly and was planning on stopping by TPC and Hardywood. It's my first trip to Richmond and one that likely won't happen again anytime soon. I'd like to get the most I can out of the trip.

Center of the Universe is releasing Dos Duderinos and 4 variant bottles. Imperial Milk Stout at Ardent and Isley may have Boozy Mother, Choosy Mother and This Ain't Kentucky bottles left. Although cans are gone def swing by Veil. STRANGEWAYS is releasing Ape Armegeddon Rye Whiskey bottles and Brandy barrel variant on draft.

Final Gravity is only about 3 miles from HW. They don't can/bottle but a very under the radar brewery. Love their beer!
