Correct. Granted that if there were only great beer that may eventually sit as well, but if the $#s line up why make mediocre beer that sits while the great stuff flies off the shelves/never reaches the shelves?

Still a giant line at dangerous man if anyone was curious. I didn't get bottles, just went inside for a couple pours. It's better than I anticipated and quite enjoy the port barrel character on it.

And I was being a jackass. I do agree with most of your points.

I'd like to get a bottle of big bad baptista. Was it in and out in most shops or can I find one around anywhere?

I would guess they are out of bottles by now. Someone doing a line count around 12:45 said they were at 430 people. 900 bottles, 2 bottle limit...most people were getting 2 so you would figure anyone after 450 would be getting lucky

I left at 1:20 or so and there were still a decent of people in line as well as people walking out w bottles. The keg inside had kicked though.

Confirmed on Twitter that the bottles are now all gone.

It looks like they posted on Twitter about 1:40 that the bottles were sold out

There were a few left at TW Roseville earlier today. You have to go to Customer Service and ask (just so you don't waste a ton of time looking around like I did).

I would agree if we lived in a socialist society. Liquor stores are not forced to carry any product. They carry a product because they make money off of it. No store can stay open carrying only beer geek product, e.g. Four Firkins.

Just curious was DM's Imp PB Porter a first time thing or is it released yearly? Not too familiar with their stuff, but loved the reg version.

ya I don't think they know much about what they got. They got two cases, you probably got second to last one from the first case. There was an empty box next to the one she pulled for me.

Ale jail and zipps happen to be the two stores that I frequent most often as zipps is close to work and ale jail is close to home. I've never tried to ask them to hold stuff for me but I know the employees there recognise me as a regular, we'll make not zipps any more since Mick just started working there.

Anyways, I think it's pretty ridiculous for them to complain about the whale hunting and truck chasers. If it really bothers them so much they could hold and release instead of putting everything on the shelves right when it comes in the door. Or if regulars start asking about it then make a list. Don't complain that truck chasers are buying up all the whales while doing nothing to get the same whales to your regulars, that's just asinine.

Not to mention that they're constantly generating the hype by posting stuff on twitter well.

full disclosure: I was hoping to track down an abraxas but couldn't, nbd saved a few bucks.

people like to use the term truck chaser. there are people out there that do that, or as previously stated, wait in a parking lot for the truck to show up. in reality, its really just having an understanding of logic and distribution. it doesnt take much to understand what stores get deliveries within certain days and where they land in relation to location to each other. most trucks arent going to deliver to one store and then go across town to make their next delivery. theyre probably going to deliver to the other 3 - 5 stores within the 10 mile range of the previous store.

for a store to get mad about people looking after highly limited and sought after beers is kind of stupid. you control your inventory. hold it for your regulars if you are going to get mad about it. for someone to think people arent going to call about a limited beer is also a bit strange. most people arent going to hit their local beer stores everyday to see if they got the expected beer. theyre going to pick up the phone and make a simple call. $.02.

Surprised I haven't heard more about the Bent Paddle Climate Generation. Very distinct taste without going overboard or getting gimmicky.

I think the AleJail dude was having a bad day/week and was blowing off steam, while the Zipps dude was just trying to have his bro's back after dealing with similar frustrations all week. If I'm right, the AleJail dude probably regrets it a little and is looking forward to us all forgetting bout it in a couple days. Liquor stores are customer service...no matter how well you do, some jerk will always tell you how to do your job better, and we're all human and do things we wish we could take back.

^^^ This. I read the tweets. They were just blowing off steam. Any sane person would. Relax and don't make it into anything bigger than it was.
