On the way home from work today stop by the QuikTrip to pick up a beer. Normally I will grab a Bud Ice 5.5 but they were out on a Saturday afternoon. Look down a couple of shelves and saw the Milwaukee's best ice 6.9. And said to myself wow when did the Beast become 6.9 from 5.9. From time to time I will drink a Natty Daddy 8% 25 ounce or even a 211 Steel Reserve 16 ounce. But when I saw a Milwaukee's best ice 6.9% in a 32 ounce can I had to get it. Now some might say yuck you drink that nasty cheap beer. My answer is hell yeah drink that it tastes good to me. And for $3.05 in 32oz in Tarrant-County TX I will buy one every day

Welcome to BA! Drink what you like, but if you're just looking purely at alcohol content and price cheap whiskey would be cheaper and get you there faster.

Nice dos Equis reference. Seriously though I actually enjoy their amber.

I like the beer. I do not like their latest incarnation of The Most Interesting Man in the World.:astonished:

$2.69 for a 4 pack of 16 oz cans here. Cheap buzz for the buck for the financially challenged. Taste ain't bad either.

Might as well spend a couple more bucks and get some SA Boston Lager or SN Pale Ale

Hah! I love it when a random ice beer/malt liquor thread pops up on here. Half surprised nobody has tried to shame you for it or try to give you shit. The style is a guilty pleasure of mine. I bought a 40 of Country Club recently and was quite pleased. I also saw a OM Ice tall boy...didn't try but but I might give it a go sometime

    Cheers!

What if you'd rather not though? It actually is possible for one to enjoy a "shitty" beer too, you know (even if your opinion or taste differs from the OP)

Aw, come on. Three bucks for a 32-ounce 6.9% ABV beer? What could possibly go wrong? :stuck_out_tongue:

I enjoy a macro every now and again but the problem with them for me is that they can give me hangover-type feelings even when I don't overdo them and drink plenty of water. I did some research on this and some studies have shown that the cheaper the alcohol the worse the hangover can be.

    Welcome OP.

Same here. I can go for an occasional beerathon an evening (six or more beer, usually with a high ABV) and not feeling too brain dead the next day like I am when getting wasted on macro. These macro trying to sell out strong stuff fails and don't make me feel as good as craft. I've said this a dozen times here but ''drink less, drink better''.

    Cheers.

No matter how much time I've spent or will continue to spend in the craft beer industry, I will NEVER stop drinking 40's of High Life. The beer geeks can't make me!

Drink what makes you happy. I drink just about every beer across the board it just depends on my mood or time of year, etc. To me price is not a determining factor, as long as I like it it can be 99 cents a can to 25 bucks a bottle.
Welcome and hope you have fun here at BA.

I had a Natty Daddy a few months ago. I've always been a fan of Natural Light. I bought the big can thinking it was a 4% Natural Light. Then when I walked home from neighbors house after football, I though, "wow I'm pretty buzzed". Not until I jumped on beer advocate did I realize that a Natty Daddy is a whole different beer at 8%, not just a a daddy sized can of Natural Light. I thought something tasted a little different from past Natural Light consumption but not enough to make me think I was drinking a whole different brew.

True story. One of the ladies who lives at the group home where I work went to the store one day and brought home a can of Tilt. She said she thought it was an energy drink and that the can was pretty. We were able to return the unopened can to the store, averting a potentially tragic situation (psychotropic medication interaction). However, I decided to do a little experimentation of my own. I stopped at the store on the way home from work and picked up a 24-ounce can of 12% ABV fruity goodness for $2.49, then drank it in about fifteen minutes that evening. My scientific finding: if you're looking to get s***faced on the cheap, this is the way to go.
