But you bought the bottles anyway and did business with them? Seems confusing.

We definitely dealt with the same person. No doubt about that.
As for buying the bottles anyways, It was a matter of principle.
I want in there mainly to see IF they would sell it to me (despite the fact that they "don't have a license to sell it to me" lol)
I had to successfully buy the bottles in order to prove that they were being facetious

If it was about principle, wouldn't you have tried to buy the bottles and as soon as they started to ring it up, change your mind so as not to give them your money in the end? And instead of blasting them immediately on social media as "outright lying, plausibly sexist", perhaps first talking to their management about the issue?

No, no...much better to get the bottles and then put them on blast on social media. :astonished:

That's where I was with it.
I wanted the bottles. That was one of the goals of the day. Giving them up, and only getting to tell them they were naughty, how is that good?

And as far as "talking to their management" the person who denied her but sold to me WAS the manager. Sure I can/could try and move up the food chain and try speaking to the general manager/owners but why?
The best possible results from that are:
    1. I get no bottles
    2. Maybe get an apology
    3. Maybe get offered a meal or a gift card for our experience but we wouldn't want that anyways because the place is an hour away from our home (we were out there for the Sobrehumano Grand Reserve sale)

Yes I put them on blast on social media because they deserve it. Brining attention to what they did is worth more than 20 gift cards ever could be

Heh, I was the one recommending that you should indeed work the way up the mgmt food chain in your other post within the local beer group on Facebook.

And I still believe you should:wink:

I have zero ties to Chop House Ann Arbor, never been there or heard of them before this strange type of release with Shorts. But to bring the whole house down because of one likely asshole employee (manager on duty)....why?

I would have still bought the bottle as well but you can be sure I'd be reaching out to the General Manager to speak with them about the issue. I also pointed out to you that the GM of that establishment is a woman:

Try that old school route and pick up the phone. Guarantee she would like to hear if one of her managers was being sexist.

Businesses aren't always perfect and every one has bad employees. Just be careful when you start with the all out smear campaign because of one moron:grinning:

And btw....a special bottle release at a restaurant is a recipe for disaster, haha. We have beer stores and breweries that have issues mastering how a release should work.

Surprisingly a keg of Bourbon Carrot Cake make it up to the Yoop (Pacino's in Escanaba), so I got to try it last night. What a neat beer!

Best chance if finding it is smaller towns. Cold water Meijer had at least 2 12 packs left yesterday.

So if I am reading this right, you are a very principled person, unless your goal of the day is to get bottles you want, then screw principals, get what you want then tell others not to buy the same bottles you just bought, from the same establishment that you just bought them from.......because principles?!?!?!?!?!?

Young man, if Internet Social Justice Warriors gave participation medals, you would be first in line.

EDIT: Dang, I see you were so upset with them, you partially obscured the bottle in your trophy picture you posted......that will show them!!!!!!

Keep up the good fight young SJW.

How are they drinking? They're drinking like liquid f'n gold. Bottled on 12/5, and in stores by 12/9. Not too shabby, eh?

I know right. Believes them to be sexist. Buys bottles anyway, because reaaaaaly wants them. grips on social media. I don't see standing for many principles in my view. more like lack thereof.
