I'm not too familiar with the offerings in Santa Fe, so I'm hoping that some of the folks here can help me out. I'm getting married there in January and we are looking for a brewery (cidery or pub/bar with good beer selection would do, too) where about 20 people can go for drinks at the end of an informal wedding ceremony and dinner. We're having a dinner from 5-9 pm on a Wednesday evening so ideally we'd find a place that's open until midnight. We don't plan to decorate or any of that, we just want a place where we can hang out with a nice atmosphere. For us a nice atmosphere means not too loud, no sports bar vibe, large tables, maybe some music, fireplace would be awesome, just something cozy. Something near the Plaza / Railyard would be ideal. I won't be in NM until January so I won't be able to check out the place until then.
    Thanks in advance!

I am sure someone from Santa Fe can give you more insight and this recommendation will sound strange, but the bar at the Violet Crown Cinema is large and has a great tap list. Plenty of different places to hang out. Possibly a fireplace? Late movies mean it is likely open until midnight or later. At the railyard.

Edit: Second Street Brewery is across the tracks from Violet Crown and is cozier. So, you have plenty of options right there.

Thanks so much! I'll check out the cinema you mentioned. I have a friend who went to Second Street and really liked it so maybe that would be a good choice. Thanks!

Second Street at the Railyard is a good option. No fireplace and the benches are all outside, but very good beer and a pretty nice ambiance. Not far from there also is New Mexico Hard Cider, which will be a bit tighter spacewise, but good drinking options and an intimate setting.

If you're willing to venture farther out, Rowley Farmhouse Ales is about 5-7 minutes from the plaza and has an enclosed outdoor area with heating lamps. A few of their own beers on as well as a curated selection of other taps, plus wine.

One thing though, Santa Fe isn't exactly friendly for the late night crowd. I think these places all may be closed by 10 or 11.

I'm less of a fan these days, but Draft Station overlooking the plaza does have more space now, a good list of NM beers and fireplaces (if I remember correctly).

I'd also suggest Rowley Farmhouse Ales. If you have a bug enough group (20 certainly qualifies) I would think you could reach out to the proprietor of most of these places and find one willing to stay open late for you. I'd think if 20 people were all ordering a drink or two an hour, that would be enough business to justify most places to stay open for an extra hour or two if you arranged ahead of time with them.

Rowley Farmhouse can stay open past 10 (normal closing time), but we can only serve NM brewed beer and wine past 10 PM. Shouldn't be an issue as we have a good selection of in state products. I would call 505-428-0719 and ask for Jeffrey if you want to make arrangements for a larger group.

The downside is we won't know how the weather will be in January, but if it is as warm as it has been the last few weeks, then the tents are pretty comfy with the heaters going. I doubt any other place will be able to accommodate a large group past 10 as Santa Fe as a city closes down early in general.

Thanks again for the replies! Once we get a final headcount for how many people will join for drinks I'll get in touch with Rowley Farmhouse. Is there any indoor space there, or is all the seating, etc. outdoors under the tents & heat lamps?

There is indoor seating as well, but it's not as accommodating inside for large groups. The good news is there would be little to no regular customers past 10 so you'd have the place to yourself...
