In lieu of this chilly weather, any advice on keeping bottles warm in the car? I was thinking hand warmers in a cooler but would like to hear if others have experience in this field.

I'll be arriving early evening Thursday. Anyone doing any shares? I'm staying at Super 8.

TG didn't deny Distro in one of their tweets so I wouldn't be surprised if random stores received some.

I'm from MN and have plenty of experience hauling beers back and forth between here and there in the winter, and I'd guess it would need to be quite a bit below 0 degrees for those 12% ABV beers to freeze. I don't really have any advice for keeping them warm as I've never worried about or had a problem with it, but a handwarmer in a cooler sounds like a good plan.

Is anyone that has already booked a room in Decorah for Thursday and Friday have space for one more and looking/willing to split costs of room? I fly in from Miami on Thursday and will be renting a car and driving down from MSP. Would love to partake in everything going on Decorah.

    Styrofoam coolers/shippers help insulate bottles.

Lots of experience traveling all over Wisconsin and Minnesota this time of year with valuable liquids. Best advice is use a cooler lined with newspaper. The newspaper will prevent your bottles from clanking around and it is an excellent insulator when used in layers.
The freezing point for a 12% abv liquid is technically around -5 or -6 degrees C but the the fact that the bottle is pressurized and has sugars (etc) in it will lower the freezing point quite a bit further. So you really don't have anything to worry about as long as you use a cooler (well, I guess a warmer in this case ).

Awesome! I'm flying in from Oregon. I'd love to bring some De Garde and Fremont stuff to share! I just need a date as to when because I'm staying in Minneapolis. Cheers!

So you think I could safely ship my stuff home as opposed to having it in my checked bag on the plane back? I'm flying from Oregon.

Yes, that's us! Usually, 4pm. As for 1/13? That's part of what we're still figuring out, but likely 9-10am...

We're definitely doing a bottle share Friday of the release. We've done something similar for the last two Morning Delight releases.
Cliff notes: There's a cover charge at the door, where you get a glass and a few drink tickets. The share itself is not coordinated, but more free flowing. The last two have been full of fantastic beers and generally been a good time. (I hope!)
Will have more info on our exact Friday schedule soon. Hope to have that finalized and a FB event page up by early next week! Will link it here ASAP...

We'll be open regular hours on Thursday and Saturday.

Was originally forecast to be 22 below on Sunday in Des Moines. Now just a mere -15 degrees! depending on just how cold it gets you'd probably want to bring any really valuable beer into a hotel if you're staying the night. I don't worry too much about beer getting too cold when traveling in my car because when I'm in the car and have heat/AC on it's within a reasonable temp.

Awesome, thanks for the info, 9-10am would work perfectly. I need to leave Iowa pretty early, but still want to check it out some cool places there and near MSP.

Will any Great Notions be making their way with you??? Never had Fremont, but I hear their stouts are quite good!

Fremont stouts are up there with the best. Coffee dark star is absolutely stellar...and many others.

Probably not. I'm trying, but they're northern Oregon and I'm southern. Their new 100 crowler thing gets me hosed every time. Fremont things, definitely!
Yep. I'll bring the dark star lineup and maybe the b-bomb variant. Possibly(very up in the air as of now) a rusty nail. At least regular b-bomb.
Dammit. I'm in the late part of the release. I'm in the 2-3:45 zone. I liked your page, so hopefully I'll see it and get to participate!

I am the same time as you are...just participate in the bottle share in the morning and then after we get our bottles go back! Problem solved. With a drop off of the bottles at the hotel in between of course

I'm thinking of bringing Brew1000 and CCBBomb. Two of their best beers.

My pickup time is also 2:00-3:45. Think I'll spend the first half of the day at C&C, hit TG around 3:15, then stick around TG to see if I can nab anything on tap there.

Oh my god. I'd love you! I got the AO's but I can't freaking get b1k! I wasn't cool enough to know about Fremont then. Haha.
Solid idea. I love it! Except I can't bring my bottles back to Minneapolis and keep going. Lol.

Have the 8 am pick up Friday morning. Any shares that morning? C&C opens early that day?
