Agreed. I've got a dozen Scotch Ale right now which I will enjoy all winter.

Agree with you on the stout, but I think the BW is as good as it gets.

My confusion lies in the word "release" and "less obvious." All beers to market are released at some point and "less obvious" is a relative term that means something different to everyone. I suppose you're right that they are appropriately hyped depending on who you are.

I forgot how expensive these are, glad I only grabbed two of them. Just ridiculous.

Picked it up at Beer Cellar late last night. They had a few bottles when I left as well.

Binny's LP has all of the Prairie BA stuff. Got 1 reg bcbs and 2 bcbbw at Jewel on Paulina and Milwaukee. No more reg but they still had barleywine.

I would imagine it has to be coming, since Grand just got theirs (the AB-InBev truck was still there). Maybe it's on the way?

Check the BCS thread, I'd imagine someone will update when LP gets it in.

Now I see that Wild Onion Drago has been released....ugh. I like that one, so I may pick up a 4 pack. Just too much stuff out there now.

That one was a tough pass for me. It's definitely underrated (Beer Temple just tweeted so!), so it was tough for me to pass up last week when I saw it.

I can't even imagine how tough it's going to be this time next year, with PW having ramped up their barrel-aging program, Half Acre being in year 2 of Benthic and BA Big Hugs, Toppling Goliath FINALLY being in town (potentially), etc., etc.

I may need to move out of the city just to save money on beer! :stuck_out_tongue:

Not to mention the 100 new breweries that will inevitably pop up between now and then and the existing heavy hitters around the country that move into IL distro. I hope PW's BA program makes the jump the HA's did this year.

It's not a stout but I picked up a Surly pentagram aged in rye whiskey barrels today, pricey but the reviews look great

It's barrel-aged and has a wax cap; close enough

Am I just a close-minded fuck, or does a whiskey barrel-aged sour sound awful?

Close minded. Upland's Malefactor is the first regionally local beer that comes to mind for a like style and it was lights out. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1170/78143/

Does anyone know if the Neckbeard beers will see any distribution?
