My ID wasn't checked last year, and I was about 10 minutes into the line.

Anyone have any idea how long those 12 bottle tix will stick around? Don't have money to drop right this instant but if they make it another week or two would be fantastic. Don't know if they did it like this years past or not

We are in uncharted waters, the tickets didn't last this long last year.

Hope they add more names to that list. No disrespect, but that list looks pedestrian compared to last year, which included 3 Sons, J Wakefield, Side Project, De Garde, Toppling Goliath, Bottle Logic and many others of similar caliber.

I wonder if that means an increased ticket number or less interest in the festival.

For me, the schlep factor of a case of bombers would be a challenge, not to mention the 400 smackers. It would require some outside assistance, either during or after. A logistical conundrum. Four was interesting last year. 2015, not so much. But this year, 4 bottle tix sold out quickly, as usual. For 2017, I will entertain myself with posts and pics on this site.

They also didn't offer the 12 bottle ticket to anyone outside the El Catador Club. The 4 and 8 bottle tickets went about as quick as they did last year.

First year missing it and that list isn't making me feel any worse about it. Sorry but 12 bottles of a beer that just wasn't great last year, another online ticketing hassle, $400 plus fees, and assuming they won't fix the entry issue after being kicked out early last year and I'm out. Hoping to land barrel day tickets again and attend the other events in the area.

An excellent point. I feel like most people would like 4 bottle tickets. Perhaps they should brew less or maybe sell the excess in the brewery in a single day. I don't know. I grabbed an 8 bottle ticket because my uncle wanted 4, but otherwise 4 bottles is more than enough for me. Thankfully as an El Catador I always get the choice, my friends that I go with have gotten stuck with extra bottles they need to unload 2 years in a row.

Agree with all of this. I really hope next year they do lower bottle tickets (2-4 would be ideal) and sell the extra Huna out of the brewery so they don't have to force everyone who wants to go to the festival to buy way more than they want. I get that it's convenient for them to sell it all at once, but I have to believe it would sell out at the brewery within a few extra days. It can't really be that much of an inconvenience for them.

I can't imagine CCB going back to selling Huna bottles at the brewery. The reason they switched it to the ticketed festival with bottles included was because of the mayhem that occurred when they sold bottles at the brewery, and the ever growing numbers of people showing up. And with the growth of craft since 2014 I would imagine huge numbers of people would still line up as in years past to get bottles resulting in chants of "CCB still sucks, CCB still sucks". Never underestimate the means people will go to get bottles of a "limited" release. remember, CCB almost did away with Huna Day altogether, this was their way to still have the event but to make it somewhat manageable.

Maybe do an on-line raffle for a set number of bottles only tickets to be picked up at the brewery, but we know how CCB and on-line sales has worked out in the past. I too am amazed that 12 bottle options are still available maybe we finally have hit the wall of what people are willing to spend. Hopefully CCB doesn't split the remaining tickets up into more 4-8 bottle tickets though because then it would increase the number of people at the fest, and it becomes less enjoyable. Despite a few hiccups I felt last years was a perfect amount of attendees and run very well hoping this years build upon that and is even better.

I'm hoping they take the tickets they don't sell Ame offer extra bottle for sale to people already attending the event. I'd buy a few more bottles.

This was nothing more than a reactionary rant and baby fit by the then-owner. Given the revenue the event generates it was likely never in danger of being cancelled. In fact, all of four months went by before they were proudly proclaiming "Hunahpu Day is back!"

If there is anything one can be sure about CCB it's that they are reactionary and not forward thinking, detail oriented or planners. Their motto should be: Fuck up and then rage apologies.

@jloomis that probably is why they changed it 5 years ago, but I think the hype is way way down on Huna now such that it would be fine. They had no issues with either of the 2 Zhukov variants they just did, which I'd argue probably generated more excitement locally then Huna would at this point. I'm quite sure it would be totally fine if they decided to release say half of the bottles at the brewery.

The hubby and I are going. First year and can't wait. Going down to celebrate my 50th. We got the $400 tickets. Driving 1,000 miles so we figure get as many as we can. I'll probably give 8-10 away to friends who love huna too. Hoping to see a few more world class breweries on the list. Praying for good weather too
