...and Lakeview Binny's had everything within the past 30 minutes or so. Not sure how long it's going to last.

Oh, no Rare. All of this year's BCBS lineup. Had a few cases each of Prop & Coffee, plus stacks on stacks of Regular & BW. Limit 1 on Coffee/Prop and limit 2 on regular/BW.

Too darn cold to walk over to the usual suspects in the Loop or South Loop. Good luck everyone.

Is there a limit at Grand? I suspect it's 1 for Prop and Coffee, and 2 for everything else?

I heard it was 2 Barleywine, 1 of everything else, but they hadn't brought out Reg yet, so I'm not 100% sure it was 1 Reg. They had a shitload of Barleywine though.

All I hope is there is no maple in anything in 2017. If a variant needs to die its that one. Unless its Coffe, Cacao, and Maple.

Fuck Chili Peppers and Fuck Maple.

Where you there when they brought it out? I was too ...

Grand got everything from this year's lineup. looked like 2 cases of coffee/prop/barleywine and unknown regular as they hadn't brought it out when I left.

Yep. I left before regular even came out, but the sales guy said 2 regular.

I bought 2 bottles of BCS on Black Friday and passed on it today
WHOA THERE! If CBS has taught me anything, it's that maple is dope (properly integrated). It's excellent in Buckley, too, among other local beers. I agree that maple needs something else to help with the sweetness though.

I'm right there with you on chiles, though. I have yet to have one that didn't make me think "I wonder if this would be better without the pepper?" No disrespect to people who like chile beers, but they're not for me.

And yet I bought a 2nd bottle of Prop, before even tasting it. :flushed:

Grand sold out of prop and coffee in a matter of minutes. I was there at 2:40 and they had 4 cases of BW and 4 cases of regular. Gotta be quick, even in this weather.

Dont get me wrong. I enjoy Maple when it is with other things but we know have 2 years of prop with Maple and everyother brewery under the sun with a Maple beer. I dont want another Maple BCS right now. I want them to go back to their roots of good variants. Cherry, Nilla, Coconut, Bramble, Backyard, Black Berry. I just want a year next year with no maple and no peppers in my BCS.

Hell if I had it my way the Line up would be 2013 with VR instead of Backyard over and over and over and over again.

Backyard and Prop 14 were the two best variants of all time IMO. Just do those over and over. Also fresh 13 Coffee.

VR IMO has always been too heavy on the vanilla. OG Vanilla was more balanced from what I remember last I had it.

I'll never disagree with a lineup that includes Prop '13, and I'm always on board for coconut (I'm one of the few who didn't love VR, though). My thing is that I've been waiting for a "true" maple version of Prop; one that was perfectly attenuated (not too sweet, or too spicy). But yeah, I understand wanting some sort of variety. As for berries, I'd hope they'd keep them in the Rye variant, since I'm not the biggest fan of them.

On the other hand, now that Clybourn and the rest are under one roof (so to speak), if they were to do a Proprietor's version of Clybourn's Vainglorious (BA stout with blackberries and coffee), then I'd be fully on board with berries in my Prop.

Prop '13 and '14 (in that order) for me. Never tried Vanilla, but my issue with VR was the opposite; it didn't blow me away with vanilla the way Madagascar (for example) did. VR is probably a better beer overall, but it didn't jump out as much from regular BCS as I'd hoped it would. I only had one bottle though, so take that with a grain of salt.
