Other Half Brewing December 2016

I usually bicycle to OH for these releases, but this weather looks brutal. I'll be out of town for all three of the other releases, so I'm definitely going to this one. I really enjoyed Broccoli in the tap room.

 

I'm honestly happy about the weather and think it will be a blessing in disguise in terms of keeping this release pretty mellow. I would be beyond shocked if we can't just roll in midmorning and get whatever we want with no wait.

Side note: if anyone is coming from South Brooklyn/Park Slope/Prospect Heights and wants a lift I'll be driving my car so as to avoid the nasty weather and could definitely carpool if anyone needs it. I live right by Barclays so even if you need a ride to/from the subway there that could work.

Yeah I'm hoping the weather keeps people away too. Looks like snow until 9 or 10 am transitioning to rain . . . yuck

7:15 and no untappd check-ins?
I got shit to do this morning and can't get there until 3:00 or so, but now I'm cautiously optimistic about there being everything still available. Maybe this stupid snow was actually useful for once.

High abv line beers, slick roads, driving, sounds like a good combination of stuff.

 

Why do I keep hoping?

 

First guy got in line when the taproom closed last night. Met him at 1015 when I was leaving. Absolutely insane.

 

I'm aiming to show up around 10:30-11, I'll post here about the line (hoping there won't be much to say).

 

For real? Did he survive the night I wonder. "World's biggest beer fan freezes to death outside Other Half. Statue erected in honor. 'Linearum Et Diligatur'"

 

Let's all remember though that there is absolutely nothing OH can do to prevent this type of behavior (sarcasm as I type every word)

He said he was going to chuck his chair down and sleep in the car. When I reminded him the sale was 12 hours away and that he should probably just go see Star Wars or something he didn't really seem to care.

 

Got in my car to make the trek out there about 40 minutes ago. About 10 minutes into driving I said to myself "wait...what am I doing right now?", turned my car around, and drove back home.

Not worth it today.

 

The Saturday threads are going to accelerate to a whole new level of entertainment if "Chairgate" spreads to Centre Street.
