Anyone know how long Burley Oak cans tend to last after a release? Not going to be in that area until Thursday next week.

 

Yup, that's why I wrote "if," not "when."

I've had GBS and all its variants, and I'll say BBGBS is the best to go after if you had to pick one. GBS is a really great beer, and BBGBS is a damn masterpiece. Few other big stouts I've had are that much improved by barrel aging, but the mix is just perfect there - it fills in all the blanks. I agree that with CM and KCM, the coffee seems to overpower the nuances of the base beer and takes away some of what makes GBS unique. They are still good, though, and $9 is a solid price for it.

 

True, but I wanted to try it. I actually want to see how it fares with some age on it to soften the cinnamon.

 

As they're not overly sweet, syrupy overpriced stouts, I'm not sure that this post belongs in this thread, but I'll post it anyway...

I haven't seen this discussed, but Sehkraft has a ridiculous taplist right now if you are stout fan.

Hammerhead Speedway, Vietnamese Speedway, High Westified, Foolery, Java Cask, Christmas Morning, GBS, Velvet Merkin and several others.

 

Do they do growlers?

I'm not sure. But you have me thinking about it too.

 

My guess is at 30 cases of each beer released so I would assume it won't last until then.

 

Hardywood Christmas Morning at TW Sterling. They also had four Wicked Weeds, Freak, Pernicious, Milk stout and something else.

 

If you're looking for a few extra bottles for the cellar, Arrowine has a couple cases of Dissident on the floor, no limit

 

Thanks. Not sure I'd want to make the 60 min drive from my house...I reckon I could grab another one at CBC if their limit is one per day.

 

I bought the last bottle of High Westified at Ye Olde Spirits in Frederick, MD for $5 a bottle. Others mentioned that Riverside and Mt. Airy has it though. Ye Olde got only 24 bottles of it (1 case).

Bell's Black Note is currently at Ye Olde. First time I've ever seen them in Frederick Co. About 10-20 bottles on the shelf as of today. Going for $10 each.

 

Has anyone seen High-Westified in DC outside of Calvert Woodley? I have kept my eyes peeled all week (though not hunting) and have not seen it.

Ditto for canton crossing in Baltimore. 5 bucks for a single Westy. Ridiculous.
