how would you compare it to Navaja?

    Equally non-NE IPA-y, i.e. a drank pour

I'm here now. Not busy and definitely not NE style. It really does seem like a classic IPA for Half Acre. Nowhere near as heavy as Navaja (which I love).

Lighter with a thinner mouthfeel, but just a juicy. The carbonation really pops

Classic in a "it tastes a lot like some other HA IPAs" or as in "a really well done IPA with a distinctive HA twist on the style"?

It tastes like a lot of other HA IPAs, but with a different hop bill....

It doesn't taste like Navaja, ones an IPA ones a DIPA.

Also, if you're going, it is worth checking out Big Sting as well while in the taproom. Growler/draft IPA.

Interesting, brewed with oats? I assume it's got a little softer feel, then?

I wouldn't say it's something I'd really go out of my way for, although I did buy a 4-pack to see if the cans tasted consistent with the draft. I thought it was a pretty regular beer - good to drink, but nothing to get excited over.

Most definitely. I don't want to come off as thinking this beer was bad in any way, just nothing really stood out. Of course, I know perceptions can change each time I drink a beer, which is why I bought a 4-pack - to see how I like it in another setting at home from a can.

Yeah, I don't mean to sound like there's an issue with it being "just another IPA," I just don't want to make a special trip over to grab that when I could get a 4-pack of Navaja (or do something crazy, like drink the billion+ gallons of beer at my house). And yes, the canning thing is by far the most important takeaway here.

Hmm. Excited to try this one. Although its sounds like what once was a case purchase now might be a 4 pack or two

I was in at 12:00. Pulled a howler and 2 bombers of Deep Space, 4 4-packs of Navaja, and 2 4 packs of Cliffs. Was out and in my car at 12:05. I wish all HA beer releases went that smoothly.

I tried a splash of Cliffs before buying any. I thought it was really smooth, and tasted just like you'd expect a HA IPA would. I just wish it was a DIPA. Nevertheless, pretty solid.

For those interested, Cliffs was canned 12/13.

I wonder who "Kevin" is (says "goodnight Kevin on the bottom of the cans).

Balen's downtown. They have a decent draft list and so does Floyd's across the street. Craft Beer Bar isn't too bad either and it's basically all on the same block.

I was of a similar mindset. It was a great array of IPAs there today. I wanted to pick up a howler of Navaja but they were out so went with Deep Space. With that and cans of Navaja, GoneAway and the new release, I'm set through Christmas . Oh, and had a taste of Big Sting which was pretty good. Love the direction HA is going with canning more of their beers (finally!).

    Big Sting >>>>> Cliffs.

I thought Cliffs was average, at best. But like others have said, them canning special releases is the big takeaway here.

We must have just missed each other while in there. My buddy and I were there from around 11:30 to 1:30 (middle booth on entrance side). Had some Cliffs and Big Hugs before taking off. Ended up grabbing only one 4-pack. Like you said, not bad but nothing earth shatering,...I'd rather go for Navaja cans or a Space growler.
