NC's Best Drinking IPAs/ DIPAs

Definitely in the top 5 ipas in NC available at the moment. Haven't been able to find 4's of it anywhere tho. That beer's hype caught on quick.

If someone on here knows of can availability in the triangle please post!

 

As far as "available at the moment" I'd say it's the best. Unless you're counting like something that's on tap at Heist that you can only get there.

Don't know about elsewhere, but I think it's gone everywhere in Raleigh. Places didn't get much.

Burial is releasing Gang of Blades Double IPA tomorrow - their Instagram does not say if it will hit distro. Will be in 4/16oz cans with tasting notes of tangerine, Pineapple, and mango. I have a strong feeling this will be another NE Style / hazy release just like the last Ceremonial w/Citra and Surf Wax. Haze is the craze!

 

I know Tasty (in Asheville) got some Gang of Blades in yesterday so there is at least limited distro in the Asheville area. Haven't had this batch of GoB, but I wouldn't consider it a NE-style at all. Same for Surf Wax, that's more west coast IPA style (having said that, I haven't had the recent batch of Surf Wax either so maybe they changed it up).

 

It has hit distro in Asheville. Picked some up at AV earlier.

 

Looks like Gang of Blades hit Good Bottle in Charlotte today.

 

Ok, so this current batch (canned 12/12) of Gang of Blades is very different than previous batches IMO. It's much hazier, bit lighter in color, less sweet, and more citrusy. Crappy picture, but here ya go. I'd for sure put it up there as a top DIPA out of NC, this version at least.

Also had the recent canning of Surf Wax last night... to me there wasn't much, if any change from previous batches, still more of a west coast IPA.

 

Nothing west coast about this recent Surf Wax IMO, it looks like orange juice.

Seems like Burial is making a concerted effort to steer their hoppy beers in that hazy direction and I personally couldn't be happier about it. Especially since they're the only ones in that top tier that you can get in cans right now and across the state as well.

 

It's aggravating when Durham and Raleigh get their drops on different days.

 

Tasty Beverage and House of Hops getting Gang of Blades today. Hopefully it wont freeze in my car when I go to see Star Wars

 

Tasty had a little over 15 4-packs left as of 2 o'clock just fyi. 1-per limit
