    Did you get DMS in that one? I had such a different experience than you. I could barely drink mine. I'm really glad you tried this and posted - I love seeing totally different takes on a beer.

    Our first delivery of Lush sold out before I could get my hands on some! :grimacing: We just received a fresh batch this week, so, here goes! :slight_smile:

    Nice one inch head that dissipates down to a ring in a few minutes, but comes back with a couple swirls. Nice floral and fruity nose. Taste follows suit with a not too bitter finish. Very nice! The feel is where this really stands out, smooth as silk! A solid offering from the Frost family. Cheers!

    @cavedave drinks a wild ale
    @TongoRad drinks a kolsch
    ... and there are at least a couple more of you good NBSers drinking "summer" style brews in the midst of this arctic blow ...

    I tip my cap to all of you. A really good seasonal that hits exactly right in its season is wonderful, but I always say any beer anytime anywhere, and NBS again is proof I'm not nuts about that.

    ... and with that said, I head to the fridge to grab my coffee porter in this wintry weather ... :rolling_eyes: but seriously, sours during winter, paler ales/lagers during winter ... why not if the mood/circumstance dictates?

    As you were ...

    I'll match that one:

    I got a similar impression as @Bluecrow . This one tasted of lemon and melon. Soft. Easy going down. I thought the malt character was lacking. Needed some bite somewhere. Felt like a wheat beer but perhaps there's no wheat in it.

    Don't fret the cross post! It's just my personal choice to keep the threads/platforms seperate. There was the argument back in the day when karma was involved about accumulating duplicate likes for more points. It made sense back then, but doesn't matter now. Cheers my friend!

    Nope, clean as a whistle. Well, except for the second pour which was full of sediment :slight_smile:. I may have unwittingly gotten a really bright first pour by choosing the small glass size. From now on I'll know, though. But, flavorwise I was impressed with how well they pulled it off.

    Eta: If you have any of those cans left I'd be interested in checking one out if we could somehow pull that off. Mine was a single, unfortunately.

    Surf's up, brah! After a brutally cold and windy night last night with wind chills near 40 below, the temperatures here have climbed to a positively balmy -6 degrees. It's like a day at the beach! I've been saving this one for two whole days to share with you all, and it has been a struggle. I'd been wanting to try Toppling Goliath's King Sue for quite some time, and I'd never seen it for sale here. (Or anywhere else, for that matter.) I stopped at the grocery store the other night and happened onto three bottles in the singles cooler. I bought two of them, one for me and one for my co-worker and fellow BA @Strike00, and left the third one there for some other lukcy basardt to find. This was fresh in the extreme, having been bottled only a week before. I decided to forgo any #ShamelessPandering and went straight for the Riedel oversized stemless wine glass to maximize the sensory experience.

    This is so perfectly balanced and highly drinkable, you can't put it down. It's citrusy, dank, piney, and smooth. The finish is crisp, bitter, and dry, with a little astringence. I think it would make a great pairing with many different types of foods. If there's a session DIPA, this is it. (If you can get it.) I'm at 5's across the board on this, and I'm not the only one. Full review here.

    Okay, maybe a little #ShamelessPandering:

    Exactly! And my mood was dictated by mostly big beers the last few days :slight_smile:. It's always worthwhile to keep a variety handy for when your palate needs a changeup.

    I really wish I had some due to your idea. Now I'll never know if I am crazy. :wink: I had a four pack. After a bad first one, I opened the second on another day hoping that I would like it then. No luck. I dumped the last two cans feeling like I wouldn't even cook with it. I think it was the first time I ever disposed of beers that way. I was very annoyed. I had a Fruh last night that was beautifully bright. It was gone in a flash.

    Too bad that you got some cans with that issue; and I don't think you're crazy. I suppose it could either have been different batches, or your 4 pack could have been overheated (doubtful this time of year, however). Whenever I do grab some more I'll keep you in mind so that you can try it again. And here's hoping that it's the clean version. Cheers!

    I remember you saying something about it one time, and I kind of like it. I've tried to abide by it for the most part. I suppose it doesn't matter much now or after 10,000 likes when karma was around.

    Wowza! You all have brought the house down again! Thank you for sharing your reviews , pics and a bit of your weekend with us. @cavedave I am hoping you have a much easier time in general starting very soon . I have been waiting patiently here at "ice station zebra" for some real accumulation myself but it looks like another MEH form mother nature. I would love to see it snow 40 inches like some of you had, a real blizzard. Temps should be back up in the 40's for the rest of the month. Since there's MEH in the air, here's one for Monday.

    Cheers you all and thank you all for making NBS fresh informative and fun! Let's do this again on Christmas! Monday OK. Let's go turn some heads!

    Greetings Earthlings!

    Terrible timing meets fleeting greatness as a good friend from way back is in town this weekend out of the blue, but I had to work pretty much the whole weekend. Since it's past midnight Sunday night and technically Monday morning, I figured Plough Monday seemed thematically approriate.

    Imperial Breakfast Porter brings a dull black body through and through with a washed out ashy/brown head. Settled back down shortly after the picture below.

    Nose is pleasant and smoothe. Primarily a creamy coffee base, but without the acrid element that I often connote to that other dark brown drink. More ashy and washed than bitter and sharp, there are elements of chocolate and ash and overall it gives the impression of smoothe grey composite.

    Quite enjoyable and very well executed. I'm intrigued and would love to try other offerings from this brewery.

    Cheers y'all!

    Speaking of a palate changeup ... all these wintry boozy quads and stouts I've been drinking has me eyeing a couple of Jester King brews in the back of my fridge: Snorkel (smoked mushrooms) and their latest Vernal Dichotomous (grilled lemons & smoked paprika). :slight_smile:

    I'll post Monday in WBAYDN and tag you so you can be jealous. :stuck_out_tongue::grinning::stuck_out_tongue:
