Assuming you mean somewhere besides my overstuffed beer storage, I'd give Binny's Lakeview a shot. No idea if they still have it, but things hang around there sometimes.

To me Mellotron had a heavy ethanol flavor. It was pretty good otherwise, but that took a lot away for me.

If you pass Harlem, visit The Open Bottle. It's literally right off of 80 and their selection is great. I picked up a 4-pack of Cumulus, Pirate Noir, Vanilla Noir, Coffee Noir and Prairie Noir from them last night.

Awesome, thanks! Actually I think I was there once a couple years back when Pipeworks was impossible to find. Cool place. Decent prices as well.

I liked first galaxy bowl the best - 2nd batch I have to agree was not as good. I liked but didn't love Mellotron.

Someone mentioned Windmill Brewing had one of these - I went down to 3F the other day for Crack the Skye and they were only 10 minutes past so I popped in. Looks and tastes the part, damn good though it's not quite as juicy as some of the OG's. Fairly crushable at 6%. Good enough to get a growler. If you make your way to 3F, or live around NW Indiana - worth the stop. Wish I could have tried some of their other beers but couldn't.

Had a Mellotron and a Cumulus the other night back to back. I honestly wasn't a huge fan of the Mellotron - I was getting a little bit of a pine flavor on the end of it that I didn't enjoy too much. It was also a little too carbonated for the NE style. I loved the most recent batch of Cumulus though. Everything I'm looking for in a NE style IPA and I promptly opened up a second can when I finished that one.

I was told it was the most recent batch, I don't know that for a fact though

I know its not Chicago per se, but Triptych Brewing out of Savoy is canning now and that includes Dank Meme - their take on the NE Style IPA. I grabbed a 4-pack of cans at the Binnys in Bloomington yesterday. I'll post some pictures when I drink one later and report back on it.

That sounds right, I think that's the last batch I had.

Nice, my brother lives in Champaign - I'll have him pick me up a 4-pack for when I see him this weekend

HA has Fog Bowl and Big Sting on tap currently. The former is hazy and kinda juicy, the latter uses oats and is also hazy. I had a sample of both, and they seem pretty solid. I'd recommend those in the area check 'em out.

Honestly, I've not been hearing the greatest things about this most recent batch, so who knows if you're missing out.

I have only had the recent batch and while very tasty beer, I was a little disappointed considering the praise it gets here. Quite possibly not the best of batches. don't get me wrong, very good...just nothing to go gaga over for me.

Yeah, I never had the last batch, but based on comments in this thread it seems like a lesser beer for whatever reason. But who knows what batch is on tap at Village Tap.
