I just wish Kiwi Rising was made a year-round or at least quarterly, it is so seriously delicious!

Interested to see how the Modern Draught system plays out; sampling “directly from the fermenting barrels…drinkers can taste chilled components of the blended beer alongside the carbonated, finished product.”

Doesn't this have weird tax implications? It seems like half of the TTB's regs are based on segregating pre-tax and post-tax beer, and so Springdale would have to pay excise on the still-fermenting barrel...? I don't know...maybe @jesskidden can set me straight.

Springdale is officially open. Gotta get out there to check it out. Taplist looks cool. But is it on-site consumption only for now? No mention of bottles or growlers on the website at the present time. Hopefully springdalebeer will chime in with more details.

Growler fills of the clean beers plus the Brettliner. $7-9/fill. Bottles of the plum foeder beer for $10. Highlights for me were the grisette and Mr Crooks

Fresh Kiwi Rising is tough to beat at that price point. I thought it is only brewed/canned once per yr. Is this a new batch?

I'm pretty sure the only time it's been canned was the mid November release

It's always been a fall annual release. No indication of that changing that I'm aware of.

Yeah, prior to this year it was always 500ml single bottles.

Ahoy! I've been running around like mad and neglecting my BA duties. Turns out this whole "opening a taproom" thing is harder than it looks

@soheadyithurts is correct: we've got 32oz and 64oz growler availability of: Walk On Porter, Brettlinner Weisse, Mr. Crooks IPA (west-coast), Mr. Wallace IPA (east coast) and Free Soil Saison. We were having some issues with the growler system last night that should be resolved for tonight, in case anyone here was turned away early yesterday.

For bottles we have Slanting Light 500ml. Kriek Mythology is next; that's conditioning at the moment. As an aside, we tasted the Kriek Mythology bottle this morning and it's gotten a pretty dramatic bump up in acidity from bottle conditioning. We are discussing doing bottle pours here during our bottle release to show off that difference. Both versions have their merits, but if it's acidity you seek the bottle really is something quite special.

We did sneak one more beer onto our opening list from what we announced on social media - a brown lager fermented with Brett in a single Sherry cask. Creatively named.... Single Barrel Sherry. It was the near-unanimous choice for our shift beer last night. If y

We have a few more releases slated for the end of this month, plus the debut of cask and live barrel pours next week. Regarding weird tax implications, @emmanths, we do not believe that there are any with these. It may not be exactly precise to say that these barrels are "still in fermentation:" by the time they are ready to blend there's very little left for anything to ferment. It's designed more as an efficient update to our current sampling method of pulling nails. We hope to show the base blending components that go into our barrel blends.

Phew! Back to it. Hope to see some of y'all soon.

The 100/102 block on Clinton Street is officially my favorite city block in the world. I stood like a child in wonder at department store window display looking at the barrel space between Jack's and Springdale. It was like the scene from Indiana Jones where the ark is put back into the storage room! I can't believe how much barrel capacity they have! That, and the Springdale IPAs are on point as well. I also got two perfect stages on the buck hunter free play Saturday night at Springdale. I can't wait to go back to try the barrel sampling. You guys are amazing!

Any chance of updating the tap list on the JA webpage? It currently claims it was last updated 10/14/2016.

Sorry to disappoint by having to close up shop for a little while, but we don't have much choice. We are going hard at this weekend to show you all what we will be about. Hope some of you can join us.
