I went to stags head yesterday at noon and they were out.

I got to Pharmacy in Cary two hours after gang of blades hit the shelf and was told they sold out. Lucky for me they had two singles in the fridge.

    It was also delicious.

They've got it on tap at Ridgewood if you just wanna try it, not growlering though.

Does anyone have thoughts on why there are so few hazy IPA/DIPAs from NC breweries? And why the few ones that get canned are in such limited supply compared to the demand?

It just seems crazy that Surf Wax and Gang of Blades sell out in minutes and that no one else is trying to meet that demand.

So the murky beers don't do it for me- are there any IPAs from NC I should be on the lookout for that aren't that 'style'?

Plan on grabbing some Long Leaf and Hop-Drop, we get enough Wicked Weed here for me FYI

As far as more west coast style hoppy beers in NC it's hard to find anything better than Freak and Pernicious IMO, but I would also give a nod to Lynnwood. Hop on Top and Mosaic pale are both great when fresh.

Hop Beard is no slouch either, but probably can only get that at Fonta Flora.

Had a friend bring me a four pack of Gang of Blades yesterday from their trip to Asheville! Super pumped about trying it! I'm a huge Burial fan!

Other breweries are definitely making them, but don't seem to be able to make them on a large enough scale yet to really circulate in distro at all except for Burial. Or maybe they just don't want to, dunno.

The new galaxy IPA at little Trophy is off the chain for instance and hazy AF, but the ones they've canned haven't been.

The Foothills Hop of the Month (Double Simcoe IPA) is pretty damn good!

If you see Noda's Hoppy Holidays, it is still drinking great but it is getting close to 30 days old now so it depends on when you are shopping. I still see it on shelves here in CLT. I bought a 4 pack Friday and it still tastes great. It's a LOT better than Hop Drop.

I second CavemanRamblin's recommendation for Hop on Top & Mosaic Pale Ale from Lynwood. I would confidently add Trophy Wife to that list and a fresh batch just went out to bottle shops last week.

I almost bought this the other day for a trade, but put it back mostly due to the poor experience I had at the Foothills brewery/restaurant in Wilmington earlier this Fall. I can't foresee buying another Foothills beer in the future.

There just aren't that many across the country. It's not like every NE brewery makes hazy beer. I'd suggest checking out Trophy, they've made a few attempts at the style. The location on Morgan has also done some.

Slightly off-topic from IPAs, but has anyone had the BBA Up All Night breakfast porter? Saw it land in the triangle this week and believe I had heard pretty good things about it.
