Swung by the jewel by half acre an hour ago, just for shits and giggles. Dude working says people were lined up since 6, and the truck didn't arrive until 10. Hahaha Jesus this shit is getting crazy!

 

That's great, 4 hours for 1 bottle of beer.

 

Binnys on Grand is all out if anyone was going to go. I got the last 2 bottles of reg on my lunch break. it was in the cooler of all places. I will check lakeview after work and report back

 

Binnys south loop has less than 5 cases of reg & bw left as of 11am. Surprised that huge wall they had of it is almost gone. As for rare popping up everywhere, I'm starting to regret even paying retail at rare day for it but I guess better than 180 worth of infected coffee or prop from last year.

 

That's silly that they didn't even have the product yet. Get the product, then sell it the next day once you have it. GI should petition Chicago to allow a mobile beer truck, then they wouldn't even have to unload the BCBS to sell it.

 

id love to scoop a couple bw. might have to find a way over there after work. any bus or train stop close? I cant remember ive only driven to that one.

 

Roosevelt orange line or Clinton blue line are probably the closest. 60 bus might leave you nearby as well.

 

Still a good amount of regular bcbs and bw at binnys lakeview. Also as of 2:45 black note 2 per in back.

A bit off topic but there has been some discussion of talking to & getting to know the people at your store. Make friends w your local liquor store folks, especially if you are outside the big city. I got an email this afternoon about special beers that had just come in. How nice is that !

 

I don't doubt the worker said that but it was fortunately a bit of an exaggeration. I got there at 8:45 to see whether they had any (and grab groceries) and was maybe the second or third person who eventually purchased to show up. (Grocery shopping while waiting for beer felt like the most productive/civilized thing I've done in the last month...) The workers knew Rare was coming and were helpful but didn't have info and expected the truck at 7:30 and had told people it'd be there by 9 latest.

Between 9 and 10 when the driver showed up it went from 3-4 people all the way to 10-12 people. It was a minor mess because no one had good info (agree with earlier point - how hard is it to bring stuff in the night before and release in the AM) but not a crazy line (or any actual line...) The icing on the cake though is that the beer rang up for $129.99. It was corrected after they were shown the facebook posts, called someone at corporate, and manually fixed it. Good times.

 

10-12 cases of BW and 16-18 cases of Reg left at Lakeview binnys. Limit 2 each. Also bells black note in back limit 1 @6.99

 

Was just there as well. Shocked by how much they got. Talked to one of the employees and he said GI accidentally doubled their 2nd drop amount. This could last well into January. Will be nice for all the out of towners passing through.

 

Is there a limit at Lakeview? Might go up there tomorrow after work...for science.
