I've also been a supporter of the bottles list, but not sure what to think of the $1,000 bottle. I mean I assume it's a joke, but I also assume that eventually some Dbag rich dude who's a couple months into craft beer and ticking whalez bro beers will pony up the cash and buy it. So maybe it wasn't a joke by Westbrook.

If it were a joke, it'd be set at $10,000.

    Never underestimate the level whalezbro.

I think this is probably accurate. If they were really just joking around it would be a truly exorbinate amount like 10k or 1 mil. It seems like $1,000 is a "Let's set a really high, but not out of the question for 'some people' price, and we can say it's a joke but if someone actually pays it......" kind of thing.

Look around and can't find much on reviews for 6th anny beer. Anyone on here had it and like to give an honest opinion on it? I have a friend going to buy some for me and my friends and wondering if I should get a few or a lot. Thank you! Cheers!

I asked my sister and brother-in-law to head down thereto pick up some bottles of that and Cake Break, the feedback I got was that it was a mediocre chocolate stout with hardly any hazelnut. They're both pretty well versed on good craft vs mediocre craft so I only had them get one bottle of the 6th for me. I'll probably drink it over XMAS and update if they were spot on or a bit off

That pretty much sums it up. Have yet to try a bottle...but had it on tap. It was decent (dark, deep, rich Westbrook stout)...but nothing really stood out. Light on the hazelnut. Could use a barrel aging. I preferred the Cake Break if you're going to compare the stouts they have available now.

There must be very few of the 1k bottles left would be my case

Anniversary bottles always see a good distro, so the brewery should have plenty. Most solid GA retailers get 2-5 cases each. There's plenty of it around.

My opinion can only be taken with a grain of salt because I represent Westbrook, but I'll put it out there anyway. I got to try it on Friday night. I thought it was really well balanced and moderate on the hazelnut, kind of like Nutella without the sweetness. I really liked it. I'm the kind of beer drinker who hates when stouts are a big boozy mess, so this was right in my wheelhouse.

It's on tap now at the brewery, i'd imagine bottles are coming next week.

I was in the camp (I believe the minority) who really enjoyed 5th Anniversary and so I think these beers have major promise. Unfortunately I can't make it in today and leaving town tomorrow AM so probably shit outta luck. Not stressing too much cause I'm sure they will be on and off at the tap room at various times throughout the year. Bummer about missing out on bottles though .

I did not like regular 5th anniversary fresh or even with a few months age. With that said, I just had some tonight and thought it was delicious. I didn't think it was as sweet.

Same here, I was disappointed with reg 5th. I feel Lindley Park is definitely better and easier to acquire.

Of course I'd certainly be interested to try the ba version.

IMO 5th was good fresh, but even better with some age on it. 5th is not barrel-aged, Lindley Park is. Not a fair comparison. And the difference in price is $10+/- If you can get your hands on a bottle of BBA 5th, then you can compare it to LP.

I drank the 5th fresh, and have 1 more in the cellar.
LP is/was $15, not sure the cost of 5th, figured it was close. For a few more bucks, and availability - LP is so good

Looking forward to try to the BA.
