You can do it with anything. I recommend grabbing some gourmet tea bags from David's Tea, or a similar place, and using the French press. The blueberry breakfast tastes just like maple syrup pancakes.

Also good, Cinnamon Toast Crunch in a French press.

Josh at the Tribune updated his "How Rare is Rare" story to include this quote.

"he called Goose Island's 800-number on Tuesday, after news of the JewelOsco release broke, to ask the company: "What exactly does 'rare' mean to you, anyway?"

Holy shit tell me this was one of you guys?

My local Binny's guy close to where I work let me know that they were getting "a secret shipment including Vanilla Rye and all the variants" today. I stopped in an hour ago, and they received 20 cases of Rare only, and won't be putting out until Monday (when I'm off work and won't be in the area )

20 cases? Holy shit man. At what point will people stop lining up at 5 am and paying upwards of $80 for this beer, I wonder.

For real. Luckily I was able to get some Rare a few weeks ago, but I was really hoping they were getting VR and some more Coffee in like he originally said. Shipping 20 cases to a Binny's doesn't seem too "Rare" to me...

    Ughhhhhhhhhh....

Hey everyone...gather around. I have something to tell you. They didn't call it Rare because they didn't make a lot of it. It is because it was aged in a Rare spirit's barrel. Got it? Yeah? Alright! Go team!

You just made me realize something. If they used the Wood from the 35 year old barrels to make the Box for Rare what did they age Rare Barleywine in...

Does anyone else think this rare stuff isn't all that rare?

    WHOOSH!

Amazing story - however it was a joke aimed at the tribune article yesterday (http://www.chicagotribune.com/dinin...ut-rare-beer-makes-return-20161220-story.html)

Right in the title....thanks for your input though!

My guess would be they held back some of those Heaven Hill barrels for the barleywine (if the rumors of Rare BW are true). Normally I'd say they just threw the BW into the BCS Rare barrels, but since BW is now doing 1st use barrels (just bourbon, as opposed to BCS barrels), it seems more likely that they're taking the former approach.

I hear the 25th anniversary will be aged in a Egyptian Pharaoh Sarcophagus.

I have seen the Rare barrels tagged as Rare Barleywine with my own eyes. I think I was there the day after they refilled them.

I feel betrayed. I waited in line over 10 hours to get something that I thought was aged in Tutankhamun's coffin. Turns out it was some lesser pharaoh.

The rare boxes aren't made out of the barrels (at least mine isn't). You can just tell because they aren't White Oak.
