Prepare for huge crowds at opening :slight_frown:. Looks like I'll be waiting to pick up my allotment tomorrow.

Ugh, my only real choice is to go right at opening today, so I guess I'll just have to brave whatever crowds there are. Hopefully it's not too bad!

Yep, me too, with my luck they probably over sold and I'll end up with less than I paid for.

There are some real first world problems here. Everyone has their own perspective on this.

I'm sure they wanted to be conservative on their yield for the online sale. That makes a lot of sense to me. Releasing more seems to be a classic underpromise/overdeliver technique.

My perspective is that I was extremely fortunate to win the lottery on Tuesday. If they did the normal release procedures (hang out in an industrial park in Herndon for hours during a workday), I would have been shutout. As such, anything else is a minor inconvenience, if any at all.

Same. I'm walking straight to the front though. I assume and hope they'll be sepearting the two, since people with tickets should be in the minority.

Stupid. Barely moving. Funneling two lines in at the same time instead of dealing with those who have already paid first

3 lines. This is a disaster. Aslin has no idea what they're doing.

This perspective makes no sense to me. If you say you're doing an online release with limits, you don't suddenly just have more to deliver on premise so people can take advantage of both. It's a clusterfuck here. Now I'm waiting over 2 hours to grab my 3 bottles (not even MOK or Orange Starfish) and a pour while some maxed online, will pick up tonight or tomorrow, AND are waiting in line and maxing out there.

What is the point of me buying a "ticket" if I have to wait in line to pick up bottles, leave and then wait in another line outside to get a pour? This is a terrible system. Should have put all of your inventory online. Not all of us can "pick up whenever" like your bouncer instructed when I asked why none of our line was being allowed in compared to the other two lines.

    To each their own.

My perspective is simple. I am still at work and would have never made it for a 3pm release. I am also unwilling to wait in long lines for beer. In other words, I don't understand your perspective because I wouldn't do what you are doing. I am quite happy with the way they have handled this release.

Having noted that, it is disappointing if people are using this as a way to circumvent the 3 bottles maximum/beer.

Sounds like they should hire you to be head of Operations. Seems like you have it all figured out.

Don't be snarky. I'm just saying this is a pain in the ass. Aslin isn't doing everything perfectly they can take criticism.

I agree, if they didn't want to sell the 'extra' bottles online, they could have at least held off until next week to avoid the inevitable shit show. Or at least make those in the presale line a priority, as in not letting anyone in the sales line in until the presale line is gone.

Not being snarky. It just seems like you have run many of these hyped up releases, so head of Operations seems like a good position for you.

After almost 2hrs in line to get my bottles I had already paid for, which I couldn't have gotten tomorrow....

This was a big step in the wrong direction release wise. I wont be back til hear of actual improvement. Much worse than the crowler line ever was IME.

Is it still 2 hours in line if you preordered even now? I'm about to head over there to pick up my bottles.

Line only got longer and longer while barely moving so id assume longer wait by now

It had died down to I'd estimate 45min but a lot of cars were showing up as I'm sure many who got off at 5:00 figured it would be gone by then.

that was pretty rough. not really sure what the solution could be. I think the fact that it was the first take out in a long time and people were trying to get their bottles before travelling for holidays funneled a huge group to the doors at opening.
