Just to order. Waiting for fill took about 10 more minutes.

Feel your pain, sadly it's only getting worse. What's even more whacky is that a majority of the demographic were there to get one measly 750 of a BBA beer that truth be told are better examples all over town right now that you can buy with zero hassle...........oh, I forgot, those Teku's.

    Cheers,

Getting a 64 of Shaneal and a hoodie along with the GoD fill helped justify the wait. Wouldn't of waited for just the stout, lol.

I think it's just a matter of time until Monkish has this down. Treehouse started small at first but now they move a ton of people through each day and sometimes still have cans with no line at the end of the day.

We're opening a Shaneal in a few minutes, I got two last night, glad you maximized your time, BUT............no Teku's ? I am optimistic that with some strategic space planning they can create a work flow that allows them to accommodate their short term goals. I often wonder if Henry is cautiously conservative based on the fact that A, His business blossomed when he started to make available some of the best IPAs in the country and B, there's a lot of very talented brewmasters within a 50 mile radius that are starting to dial in the style that will sooner than later be competing for the same demographic.

    Cheers,

I waited about 10-15 minutes for a growler fill on Wednesday around 4:45pm, which I don't consider peak time. I wasn't expecting that considering there wasn't a special release either.

Anyway, much respect to Monkish for putting out great products. I can tell they're working hard. I just hope they have a long term plan that'll enable them to sustain their business once the haze train departs.

Grabbed a Teku yesterday, haha. Have you tried the Shaneal before? I dig it. Cheers.

Yes, this is our 5th growler, I think its one of their best DIPAs they have made. I like it more now than when it was released, its really knitting together nicely. BTW, drinking SO in my politically correct Teku.

You guys didn't think Shaneal was on the boozy side? I enjoyed La Schmoove more.

No, not at all, don't pick up any heat whatsoever, and I like my Monkish IPAs more cellar temp, 50-55 degrees which will usually not only bring out the hop characteristics but also the booze.

Honestly I wasn't that big a fan of either. I think the canning line DIPA was the best I've had from them yet. Between the two I thought La Schmoove was better but overall I was kind of nonplussed by the pair.

I think my palate's more sensitive to alcohol, which might be why I tend to prefer IPAs and PAs over DIPAs. I've been having a lot of Bay Area hazy DIPAs which has changed my tune lately so I figured Monkish would have it reigned in. I still enjoy SO, but not quite as much as some of the recent beers I've had like Orange Julian and King Citra.

I liked the MFCL single IPA more than the DIPA.

The canned release from yesterday is a DIPA is one you'd like. No heat, super smooth... surprised it was a double.

Makes complete sense, I have a really hard time with high ABV beers in general, case in point, Nobles Nelson She Wrote, I was done after half a can. Everyones palette is different, I know how mine works so I tend to feed it what it wants and disregard the big ones that I know regardless of hype, that don't work. That being said, I have yet to have a Monkish beer, well maybe LAX 2 JFK that I sensed overt booziness, by the way, your referencing some really amazing beers, good for you !

    Cheers,

I was hoping my visit would coincide with a release so I could try on tap (or buy cans if it wasn't a hassle) but that didn't work out unfortunately. I couldn't make it out there yesterday as I was in the IE. I was hoping to go today but I was afraid I'd get caught in the rain storm that was supposed to come so I never made it past Highland Park.

And, it will be a complete different beast in 10 days, probably for the better. I just popped my last can of Bombed Atomically two days ago and it was superb.

Yeah it's interesting how different we all experience these beers. For instance, folks love this year's City of the Sun but, to me, it tasted nothing like it did the previous two years. Huge let down because I was looking forward to it.

Hey, have you had the re-formulated Orderville yet ? If so what do you think ?

I haven't tried it but I didn't know they used a new recipe. I might try to go down to MT tomorrow so if it's on tap, I'll give it a shot. I take it it's much better than the previous release? I don't think I cared for the last one too much to be honest.
