    Keep them in your room? The bottles are not going to freeze in your car while driving. It would have to be significantly below zero before that happend.

    I'm only staying Thursday night so I won't have a hotel room available to me after I pick up bottles.

    I'm not worried about when I'm driving. I'm worried about when I'm inside one off the bars drinking for awhile.

    Precautions may or may not be necessary, if you aren't staying in Decorah Friday night is it safe to assume you will be on the road by sun down? I certainly wouldn't get carried away in small town Iowa with out of state plates, in which case simply having them in a cooler (insulation works both ways) should be sufficient assuming the high for the day is at least in the teens.
