I do not want to get in the classic discussion of actual $ value of KTG. However, has the trade value gone up or down with Mott's decision to go solo?

Obviously the beer will take a hiatus while he is setting up shop. But I haven't heard his plans on releasing the beer. If he plans to make it more readily available I would assume even the vintages would go down in trade value.

    Thoughts?

I know nothing about the beer but I would kill (literally kill - message me for details) to try it.

I lost all of my lottery tickets last year (there was a lot of controversy over poor shuffling, ie. people getting all winners and some people getting all losers) but I swore I would at least go up for the 2013 release to try a glass after bailing in 2012 to take an exam......and now I can't. Todd, y u leave portsmouth!!?!

I am ISO that beer. In fact I'm already waiting in line for BA zombie dust . $35 for a bottle of BA Dead Person Particle Matter is more than fair!

The trade value of KTG is directly proportional to how many people (active traders) have not tried it. Those that have tried it are immediately out of the trade market for another bottle.

I loved a 2009 that I tried at a tasting. This beer is all about mad subtlety to me - something that seems to be lost on quite a few folks, imo.

it's not the answer you want to hear, but the truth is that the real answer to

"is KtG value up or down now that the brewer left?"

    is

"you've completely misunderstood trading and trade value. there's no objective standard. try trading for it if you're so curious."
