If anyone is looking for a last minute Christmas gift (for yourself or otherwise) -- I just got home from Garfield's in Crystal Lake and they had a case of BCBS 2015 Rare sitting on the bar for $89 each.

 

Just had a Prop 16 in St Charles. Not the same beer as Prop Day. They clearly blended that beer. This is still good but the spice is more significant.

 

Up visiting family in Orland and Carol Stream the next 4 days. Anything hanging around? Mostly interested in regular or BW, but still have some small ridiculous hope that I might stumble upon a '16 Prop that wouldn't require any of my orifices being violated. Sorry, that wasn't very Christmassy of me at all...

 

I've seen and heard of some Binny's with some '16 Prop in the past few days, but have no idea who might still have some in those areas. Good Luck.

Picked up rare at downers grove binnys earlier. Didn't seem to be going too fast

That's fine with me. I'm happy to get an extra two bottles without waiting in line. Now I can enjoy the one I had

 

The beer should have been labelled "Rare (Not So)"

 

Oops...posted in the Chicago not the 'burbs thread this morning. I was at OP. Got there at 8:30 and was 7th in line. I think they had 4 or 5 cases of "Rare" on floor, 2 per. By time I left there was 2 cases. Nothing else. Was hoping for a shot at '16 Prop but no dice. Looks like Mokena had 1 case of it. Otherwise haven't heard of anything but Rare today.

Had a fascinating interaction(s) with the dude in front of me who claimed to be a former semi-pro tennis player. Anyone been fortunate to experience this one yet?

 

Has anyone seen it at Target in the burbs? Ive got a bunch of gift cards that would be perfect to get more Rare.

No, that was serious.

 

It was serious, but do any Suburban Target's sell beer? I was very surprised when I went to a couple and they didn't.

I live in the city and just assumed they all did.

That being said, the city target on Elston has a crazy awesome craft beer selection (with some amazing sales)

 

My Saint Charles location does but we're talking about Ballast, Lagunitas, Goose, and Two Brothers in terms of craft

 

Both Algonquin Super Target and Crystal Lake Target didn't have any.

 

Binnys Oak Brook had about 2 cases of Rare on the floor as of 5 minutes ago. 2 per person, $69.99 a pop.

 

5+ cases of Rare sitting around like it's Dragons Milk in Binny's STC. $69.99 limit 2. They even put them out on the floor which they don't really do for beers people are seeking out.

 

Same at Binnys Bolingbrook.

 

Binny's Downers Grove does this thing I really like - they keep the high demand, limited edition stuff behind the service counter, but then they put one on the service counter with the price tag, making it really obvious what you need to ask for.

They currently have not just one, but twelve Rares sitting on the counter which the cashier went out of her way to point out even though I was buying neither a stout nor a Goose product.
