Other Half Brewing December 2016

Stopped by OH yest to get some bottles of IAL for me and my cousin. I had one of the Red Wine aged bottles on Xmas, it was delicious, strong red wine and dark chocolate throughout. Looking forward to trying out these ones once I have the chance to

 

I cracked a bottle of Apple Brandy Orbit over the weekend and it was pretty gross right out of the fridge. Sludgy, no carb and this real off putting bitterness. I gave it a half hour to warm up and it was a totally different beer. The barrel character really came out and I really enjoyed it. Better than the rum. Can anyone whos had the Bourbon Barrel Orbit comment?

 

Available Beers:

IPA- 7% ABV, 70 IBUs. West Coast style IPA with a medium malt body and lots of Chinook, Summit, Cascade, Centennial, and Simcoe hops. $150 1/6

Forever Ever- 4.8%, 50 IBUs. Session IPA hopped with Azacca, Jarrylo, and Citra, Mosaic, and Apollo. Light, bright, and straight crushable. Forever never seems that long until you're grown. $150 1/6

Double Dry Hopped Mylar Bags: 8.8% Amarillo, El Do, Galaxy, Mosaic, oats and wheat. Fan Favorite only double dry hopped. $300 1/6

Double Dry Hopped Double Mosaic Dream: 8.5% All Mosaic, extra Lupulin powder. $300 1/6

Double Dry Hopped Suparillo: 8.6% Double IPA with Amarillo. Double dry hopped with more amarillo. $300 1/6

Double Dry Hopped Stacks on Stack: 8.5% Citra, El Dorado, Mosaic and then more Citra, El Dorado and Mosaic. $300 1/6

 

How much y'all think OH spends on hops each year? Damn.

 

Interesting to not see DDH ACE on that list. Wonder if we will see cans of the DDH Suparillo instead of that for NYE. Suparillo and Stacks on Stacks are OH beers I typically pass on. Of course the DDH variations have me moderately interested. FOMO's a real bitch.

 

I always really liked Suparillo, excited to try the DDH version; of course, out of town this weekend so hopeful they'll be taps available of these next week.

DDH Space Diamonds should be in the pipe. I dont think I could drink 4 4 packs of DDH Beers in a week. they can space it out all they want.

All I want is DDH All Dank Everything which will probably never happen

 

batch 1 of Supa was great, I found batch 2 lacking

 

DDH Space Diamonds will likely be towards the end of January (likely with the 3rd Anniversary release) as it is already listed for Extreme Beer Fest the following weekend.

 

Opened these with a bunch of people on Christmas Day and it was a big hit. Great stuff.

 

Are the stout bottles all gone from this weekend? Anyone know?

 

Just grabbed 4 today around 6pm

 

Trying this latest batch of Mylar Bags for the first time tonight. Killer stuff. As good as batch 1. Straight dank juice. Can't wait for the DDH.
