Kind of disagree. For me, if you want NE IPAs from Chicago, this is the one to try.

I'm excited to see what people have to say about Morning Fog.

Plan on hitting up Forbidden Root today to drink some snooze juice and the other NEIPA they have on tap.

Huh, didn't realize that new one was a NE IPA. Snoochie Boochies.
I thought Snooze Juice was very good. Will have to try the new one next week.

I was told snoochie boochies was a NEIPA, but could be mistaken.

Yeah, just checked their Instagram, they are calling Snoochie Boochie a NE DIPA. Another brewery to follow on IG...

I'd say in terms of what I've tried (basically whatever is available in the city proper):

SS and GB/RH (Reply Hazy) have the thickest mouthfeel and are closest to actual juice (since I know that's what some people are looking for).

Fresh IIPA is relatively close in mouthfeel, but the batches vary greatly, and the hop profile isn't quite as fruit juice-like.

Beers like Midway ChiPA and the latest batch of Juice Pants are a good compromise between the mouthfeel and juiciness of an NE IPA, with a little of the bitterness that we've come to know (and love/hate) from more traditional IPA styles.

Hailstorm's stuff is a little harder to peg, because they seem to be tweaking their recipes pretty seriously. I'll be interested in hearing what people think of the latest batches of Nimbus and Stratus (I thought Stratus had potential).

Obviously taste-wise everyone's going to have a different opinion of what they're looking for. My favorite beers of all these have probably been Reply Hazy, GB (b1), Midway and either either the first batch of Cumulus or SS b1 (I think that was mosaic?).

You think this latest batch of Stratus is worth picking up?

Ok so i broke down and bought a 4pk of Mellotron to see what all the fuss is about, but mostly because it has a stylized Moog IIIC Modular synth on the label (looks like it was modeled right off of Emerson's, actually.)

Edit: Also Hop Butcher if you're reading this don't think i dont know a Mellotron is NOT a modular synth -______-

Binnys is probably your best best. Beer temple and bottles and cans are a little farther. I dont know for sure but you might have luck at west lakeview as well.
