I like how everyone at the full bar is dead set focused on their phones. Besides the two guys who are dead set focused on the TV's.

Man... this is phenomenal... the smell alone makes my night. So rich and complex, both bold and subtle. And to accompany, early Coltrane on the Audezes...

I have fond (I think) memories of their Banana Bread Ale. Wonder if they still make that?

Had the chance to watch the Breaking Bad marathon on AMC this week. It was so good to catch up with an old friend.

I love your doodles, would gladly hang some on my walls. Kinda reminds me of a happier Derek Hess, for some reason...

Just made a beer run so I had something light while taking down Christmas lights. Got this and Citrusinesis. Also grabbed another four pack of Backwoods because it was $11.49. I put up a lot of lights. This could take a few beers...:sunglasses::rolling_eyes:

And, we're getting a new beer in Arkansas in a couple weeks. The distributor won't say who it is but says it's a huge deal. On the level with Bell's and Stone. I'm guessing we're going to get Dogfish Head. They wouldn't even tell my beer guy who it was and held back the introduction of Destihl for it. I'm pumped :slight_smile::slight_smile:

Seems like this has been my official working from home beer lately. And not a bad way to start the weekend - cheers!

Evil Twin's Imperial Biscotti Break. Cannot upload a pic on photobucket. I keep getting sent to a web page that is telling me my one week old phone is 45% damaged by viruses and to download some friggin app to rip me off and destroy my phone.

Thank you! (Don't say anything, but sometime in 2017 I'm going to make them all available for viewing. There must be 100's by now.)

Got a few home brews in a trade with a coworker. They are labeled by styles, so I have a IRA, being an Irish Red, a BA, supposedly a nice Brown Ale, and a CS. I wasn't told what this was supposed to be, so it's the first I'll try.

Pours a medium brown, with a tan head that sticks around for some time. Laccing is sparse, but still there. Completely opaque, direct light only serves to brighten up the brew rather than shine through it. The smell dominated by malt. I get hints of caramel, a lot of sour dough bread, and a sharp bite of alcohol. This should be interesting.

It really should have been. Like the nose, the flavor is malt forward, with the same sour dough flavor influencing the experience. At the start I get a lot of milky smoothness, with corresponding sweetness to go along with it. This sweetness carries throughout the majority of the beer, turning from a milky flavor to more of a light caramel. On the finish it turns to the bread flavor hard, a flavor which had, to this point, been lurking in the background. There is a slightly off sour flavor that comes in in the middle that blends into the finish well. The beer bitters up slightly at the finish, but is much to sweet overall for my tastes.

Mouth feel was sub par for me, as while I enjoyed the velvety smoothness, the beer was not carbonated very much at all, and came across as flat. I would say it's still better than your AALs, but only just.

Life Alert: Life Alert Security Center, this is John.

Marklaker: Help! I've fallen down and I'm still three feet short of the beer fridge.

Life Alert: The ambulance is on it's way. I'm notifying your doctor and your next door neighbor.

Marklaker: Fuck the doctor, but tell my neighbor to get his ass moving. I need a DIPA, now!

Life Alert: Don't worry, Marklaker, I'll stay right here with you until your neighbor arrives.

Marklaker: Fine. What kinda tunes you got?
