Goose Island beer has come to a packy near me and I am considering trying a couple of their brews.

From your experiences, what Goose Island beer should I try first? :sunglasses:

Out of the common ones you are likely to see......I like Harvet Ale the best and it is the right time of the year for it.

Huge fan of Sofie as well. I think Madame Rose might be my second favorite. Haven't had a bad GI beer yet though...

Obviously depends on your taste... their year rounds are all pretty good. The GI IPA is a can't miss if you like hoppy... the 312 is a good wheat beer, the Honkers Ale is a good english bitter. As far as seasonals, the harvest ale is a good fall seasonal and the Christmas Ale is good.

All the ladies not to forget Matilda and Sofie are always solid.

312 used to be good before it became watery crap. Juliet, Sophie, and Honkers Ale are all good. My favorite though is BCBVS.

Still waiting to try this (bcbvs) someday... can't seem to empty the cellar enough to get it though...

Pere Jacques is a great Dubbel. Nightstalker is my favorite, but supposedly it's no longer brewed.

Edit - yes, the Goose Island site says Nightstalker was last brewed in 2011.

Sofie is the best beer I've had from them--better than the three varieties of BCBS I've had. It's unfortunate that they're owned by AB-InBev now since I'd enjoy having more of that beer.

Check the fine print of the labels - both the 312 and the Harvest Ale we're getting in NJ are brewed at AB's Baldwinsville, NY brewery and the first batches of Honker's Ale we got this spring came out of CBA's Redhook brewery in NH.

I find almost all their beers to be very good. BCBS is the obvious, but I think the IPA is nice, Matilda and Sofie are very good. I happen to LOVE the Christmas Ale too!

Sofie is straight up amazing, and Pepe Nero is very good as well.

Malita on the other had...wasn't a fan of at all. Bought a 4 pack and I won't even attempt to drink another one for at least a year.

Same here. I really thought that I had an infected bottle. It was that bad.
