I guess the word is definitely out. Stopped by the Bridgeport WF's last night, as well as the Terwilliger MofC. Nothing.

Sup friends, The Beer Authority in Lake City has TONS of sixers left for $11.99 (no limit!). Also, they got Abraxas and Spice Wars on tap!

Total Wine in Interbay had a billion six packs 2 weeks ago, but it is gone now.
The beer is very good but I don't think it is as good as last year, though I only had a growler fill in 15.

Best deal out there though, for sure.

Does Prairie actually package a sixer of BOMB! variants, or was this one you assembled?

At ~$10/btl/ea avg., that would be one expensive 6 pack...

One that I assembled. It was definitely spendy, even though the cost for the beers was more in the $8 a bottle range. It will probably take the better part of a month to drink them all (still have 3 bottles left), and as you don't see the variants all that often here, I didn't mind paying the price this one time.

Have no idea if Prairie actually packages 6 packs of any of the BOMB beers. I would be surprised if they did (given the price point of even just the regular bomb), but I have no actual knowledge one way or the other.

Over the past 5 days, I have struck out in 6 places (which is 3 more than I will usually attempt.) I am declaring my hunt for this beer Officially Over, lest FOMO get its foot in the door.

Can confirm. Picked up another 6 pack from there this evening.. It's just sitting in the middle of the beer aisle. Will check John's market tomorrow.

I stumbled across some High Westified at the New Seasons on Williams this afternoon, just like that. So I bought a sixer and there were still a few more left on the shelf. (Also available: B-bomb and Scotch Abyss)

Whole Foods Bridgeport had High Westified six packs yesterday afternoon. $9.99 I believe. Abraxas and Brandy Abyss also on the shelf @ $25.

Side note: Zupan's in Lake Grove still had BBomb and CCBBomb on the shelf yesterday. $20/$18.50.

Picked up some high-westified at TW in the valley of spokanistan. They were kind of hidden. By the vodka and bathrooms, not beer aisle. Really got me thinking...how does Lagunitas do it? A sixer was $10.99. A sixer. $10.99 for 6 bottles. In comparison over the past month or so I spent 9.99 on one 12ounce bottle of world wide stout, passed on BCBS for $9.99 for a 16.9 ounce bottle, $12-14 a pop on bombers of big bad baptist. $15-20 a pop on bombers of KDS, $15-20 on CC Bomb. Now this isn't a knock against the beers listed (no one held a gun to my head and forced me to buy them). All of them are extremely good, but it is still a head scratcher.

I think your reaction is pretty typical. In fact, I think yours is the same sort of comparison most of us have made. Quality-wise, I think the hi-westy is in the same conversation with those other beers, except that Lagunitas is selling it for a fraction of the price.

I think most of us are aware that the retail price for many BA beers has little relationship to the actual cost of making the beer, but Lagunitas has really made me stop and wonder just how great the disparity is.

Fortunately, at this stage of my life my income is sufficient that I can easily afford to buy things like KDS, Abyss, ANTEAD, etc., without any undue concern. However, for many folks a BA stout is a special occasion treat, that represents a significant splurge. The hi-westy pricing makes it possible for many customers to enjoy a high quality BA stout on a regular basis. How cool is that?

Grabbed a sixer at noon, leaving four left. Already polished off a six pack in the last week, and gotta love the small format. I really like Bomb! and its variants, but at 1/4 the price, this stuff is killer.

There's still about 3-4 cases left here. Thanks for the tip; I'd given up after striking out at about 10 other places!

As an aside, their growler fill station looks pretty neat too !
