This is my favorite time of the year to brew.

I have a dark mild and a small abbey planned. These batches will be used to build up the yeast for an ESB and a Dubbel next week.

I also have a couple of friends coming over this weekend to help empty a couple of kegs. This will be during and after brewing, hopefully I won't get too distracted.

    Anyone else?

I was going to brew an RIS this Saturday for my newly acquired bourbon barrel; however, since we are supposed to get 8 inches or rain tomorrow (in Texas somehow) looks like i'll be brewing it on Sunday if its not still raining.

No brewing but I did bottle a batch of orval clone last night. Also just ordered up a therminator for the next brewing session.

The plan is to brew a porter Sunday morning. This will be the first beer I brew for kegging, It will be nice to not bottle every batch.

My cousin's wedding is tomorrow which I brewed 8 cases of beer for so hopefully I get some positive feedback.

Sunday I will be brewing an IPA with Columbus, Chinook, and Galaxy - heavy on the Galaxy. I also might transfer my pumpkin porter to the 2ndary and figure out the spice situation there. I just put my Saison with Brett L that aged for 9 months into a keg yesterday so it is carbing up as we speak. I need to replenish my stock of homebrew after all the wedding brewing!

Pumpkin Ale of some sort. Still trying to figure out what sort of base beer to back it up with, but I want to age it with rum soaked oak cubes in secondary, so I figure something with a decent malt base (brown/amber maybe). Any suggestions?

Nothing brewing. Spicing and kegging my pumpkin ale. Turned out fantastic and I wished I would have put more spice in at flame out instead. There is a subtle aroma and hint of pumpkin pie spices but I need a little more!

I'm planning to brew a big ol' imperial chocolate stout. I think I'm gonna start brewing more big beers to help me through the winter

Probably bright and early (4ish) Sunday morning, I haven't brewed in a month and this may be my last chance for another month. I have just another APA planned, with a touch of oats. And cascade, challenger and calypso for hops.

As we speak I am poised to keg up an IPA.

I have 100 ml of WY1968. I would like to brew 10 gallons of porter, that sounds really nice. I may switch to 5 gallons of porter and 5 gallons of amber. Or a barleywine.

Maybe I will use that starter of stillwater saison yeast.

Ah, I dont know. That porter sure sounds nice.

De-labeling bottles, does not sound so nice. But bottling a tripel does sound nice.

One thing is for sure, this all Nugget black IIPA is weird.

Beer gunning bottles to empty the 8 partially filled kegs I have in the fridge on Sat, in addition to building a two tap jockey box.

Pouring beer for local breweries at my wife's large fundraiser on Sunday (on the LA Beer Week list of events).

I might get to brew my Lambic this weekend. Pils and Flaked Wheat, mash @ 158 (maybe overnight), 3 hour boil with aged hops, cooled uncovered over night, pitched onto a yeast cake from my last Lambic (cultured yeast from blackberries last fall), with a block of French Oak. Should be nice and cheap ~$16.

Also drinking my 3 wet hop beers this weekend.

    Cheers!

I'll be kegging my second batch of Berliner Weisse. The gravity sample today tasted a tad bit more sour then the first batch which makes sense because the sour mash lasted longer this time. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it changes once its cold crashed and carbed. In any rate it should be delicious.

Sort of opposite. This is the time of year where I rarely get to brew. And this weekend is no exception.

On Sunday I will be brewing a Pale Ale with a bit of sassafras tea and star anise in it and also will be doing my yearly hard cider. If you want my cider recipe, just ask,
