Ram Brewery Side Note Releases

May have just been the gal I spoke to, but just called and was told they are no longer filling growlers. Still on tap though.

 

Since the time I got to Ram (see time stamp of my previous post), I was the only person that filled a growler of Morning Fog. However, basically everyone around me was getting pours of Morning Fog so it could've been close to their cutoff.

 

If you are going, then you've probably already seen this. I'll put it here anyway for quick reference. The last two might be the most important aspects of this.


Hey Everyone,

As we approach Chaos Day, we'd like to share some information and requests to all of you to ensure we have a fun and smooth time next week. Please read the following and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

• All refunds must be requested by the end of the day, this Friday (1/6/2016). The guest list will then be finalized and no changes will be made after.
• A valid, U.S. Government issued I.D. (ie. Drivers License) matching the name on the ticket will be REQUIRED to enter, there will be absolutely no exceptions to this.
• Please print your tickets or have them available to scan on your phone - if you fail to do this, you will slow things down and people will hiss and boo you and noone likes to be hissed and boo'd at..
• Doors will open promptly at 10am for the first session and 2pm for the second session. We will do our best at getting I.D.s and tickets checked before hand so we can get everyone inside as fast as we can.
• Last call for each session will be 30 minutes before the end of the sessions (no more draft beers will be poured) - 12:30pm for first session, 4:30pm for second session.
• The bottle pick up station will be closed a half hour after each session (1:30pm for first session, 5:30pm for second session).
• Bottles will be handed out as you leave through the the side room off to the dining room. We ask that everyone gets their bottles promptly at the end of the event.
• Everyone will receive a voucher ticket once you have been checked in. This ticket is needed to get everything included with your Chaos Ticket. DO NOT LOSE this, we will NOT replace them.
• Everyone will recieve a Chaos Glass. Chaos and CoCo-Nilla will be poured in this glass. DO NOT LOSE your glass!
• CoCo-Nilla will only be poured near the patio door in the dining room. Chaos will only be poured at the main bar.
• There will be no bottle sharing permitted while in line before each session starts.
• Respect everyone, enjoy some delicious beer and food and let's have a great time!

 

Looks good to me. There wasn't any bottle sharing at Morning Fog release that I could see, so I think that point came across well.

 

Anyone know how this worked last year and what was available?

• Other beers, including limited releases will be available for extra purchase and/or samples

 

For Chaos day is the restaurant open? Coming back straight from Assassin release and have a friend who doesn't have a ticket for Chaos.

Or is there another option for him to wait until the 2nd session is over? Another bar close by?

 

Westwood is right around the corner. Not a beer bar, but good enough.

 

You guys will be too drunk from the Assassin release. Let me take the ticket off of your hands.

 

There's Kuma's Schaumburg which usually has some decent local stuff. That will also help soak up some alcohol, if needed. Or for a wider variety, the Beer Market (or is it called Beerhead now? can't remember) is pretty close by.

 

I would do this over Westwood. The Beer Market changed names? Also another option is Bigby's in rolling meadows. Its a little bit farther away but its usually pretty solid.

 

Previously answered and the answer is no. The restaurant is not open until after the second session is over.

 

Makes sense, wouldn't want to mix their normal upstanding clientele with us degenerates.

 

I saw that yesterday and instantly started to drool. Hahaha

 

Even the wax looks delicious.

 

Do any of their bottle releases ever get released for in-house consumption?

 

They were pouring Gimme Samoa (Side Note 2) when I was there for the last Juicy release, so I would think they do that with others. Probably don't advertise it though because that Gimme Samoa, like most others, don't last long.
